The difference in tonneau covers is about twice the price for mohair.

The Mohair is really "Twillfast" an acrylic based outer fabric, waterproof mid layer and a fabric inner layer. The PVC is the Everflex material used on the Traditional hoods fitted to the Classic range and is a pvc outer layer with a leather type grain bonded to a fabric inner. I'm never quite sure why its called Everflex....my hood is as stiff as a board in the cold weather!

Oh...the other difference......Mohair is more expensive!

I thought the tonneau on the green car was the Pvc one until Matt corrected me... I was expecting to see more of a difference for the price.
He did say that mohair is what Morgan uses for the convertible roofs on it's other models.

A polished alloy cowl would look good as an alternative to the painted silver one and the chromed one.

That steering wheel would have to go if I bought one....it really looks out of place there.

Hmm, reading Jay's post, maybe got it the wrong way round (other models use pvc)

Hmm, prefer the non quilted leather.

What metal was the non chrome cowl? Strikes me that it and a few other bits of brightwork would look deliciously retro nickel plated.

Paint it red with added black and yes please!

I suspect that most of the bespoke Classic range with the Easyup hoods use mohair whilst the 9 stud "traditional" hoods fitted to the Sport models and the 75th Anniversary 4/4 use Everflex. Both are very traditional hood materials.

Martyn....... From what I've seen of the bare body shells at the factory, all the cowls are superformed alloy. I agree with you....nickel plating would look rather nice. I prefer it to chrome.

Very interesting and good to know, but is the price-difference to quality-gain ratio good? Is the mohair that much higher quality, more waterproof or resilient against time and the elements?
