What strikes me about all these photographs from the factory is the quality of the paintwork on modern Morgans. It's in a different league to my old 1990 +8.

The paint now used is completely different to that used in 1990 and Morgan would have invested in all new equipment to use it. Also the paint company would have sent trainers out to train the paint shop workers how to use their products.

The paint that was used in 1990 would now be illegal to use in a production environment because of toxicity and pollution issues.

Excellent images. The engine is well packed into the Plus 8 and the twin side exhausts look superb.

Makes me yearn for a respray. I guess my +8 is painted with 2-pack not cellulose. I had someone back into my Lotus in a car park a few months ago and it cracked the gel coat necessitating a re-spray. Fortunately I still have some of the original cellulose paint left over from the restoration several years ago!

Thanks for the photos, Rene, makes me want to plan another trip to the factory myself. I wonder, will all Trads be built on the alloy chassis like the new Plus 8, or is this design too expensive to produce for the smaller engined models? Gerry.

I really hope not Gerry. I'd hate to have my 4/4 as wide as the Plus8 shocked2

I guess though that the cost of the Aero chassis is prohibitive for the lesser models.

In over 15 years of visiting the factory, its not only the paint that has changed! It has become a cocktail of modern technology (H&S requirements?) and olde worlde charm. Just about sums up the new Geneva Morgans I guess thumbs
