I have a mesh windblocker tucked away in the garage. It was in my Plus8 but removed when I had a roll bar fitted. It had a tubular frame and fitted into mounts screwed to the shelf sides. It did work a bit. The pins to slot into the mounts were adjustable. The rollbar made refitting a no-go unless I sorted easy fixing to the rollbar. I need to try fitting to the Plus Four. I might look to cut it in half and try using the head restraints as mounts.... What I find with airflow is it hits the top rear of my head and forwards. I am 5'10 so not looking over the windscreen. At a recent Taffmog noggin a member came in a nice 911 with a targa top.....anyone know where I can get a Morgan hardtop to chop back? I think a targa top would be great in a Morgan. PROVIDED a good seal to the renovable section was made! The front edge position would be critical too. Note to MMC.....I am ok to be a test pilot for a targa top on my car.๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐ซ

I ordered a Williams 'exclusive' wind blocker, but then enquired (not at all clear from their website) and they replied that it does not fit CX cars (they cancelled the order - fine). Suggested they design or source (Librands ?) one that does - great market for these I suspect - but no response so far. That said, I don't get much dust at all into my Plus Four with the hood down - even after many miles: front side of windscreen, lights and front plate / diffuser get peppered with flies, and the rear / spare wheel get a dusting with a very fine black powder (exhaust particles ?) but not much else. Suspect the road surface and whether following traffic, plus pollen, and imported airborne grit. etc. very much affect this. It may be that the spare wheel and luggage rack above this, break up the airflow from the back into the car interior ?

A perspex windstop located on the head restraint columns makes a big difference to buffeting, but it doesn't stop dust. I've run with this type of blocker since 2008. The reason I know it works is because I would take it off for the MOT, and the short drive to the test station was always a lot draughtier.

Dave, thanks - that's really useful to know. Do you have a design for this - or photos - that you can share, particularly of the mountings that locate onto the head restraint columns ?

I can dig out the thread on here tomorrow. But the CX is not the same. You need a minimum of 1.5mm aluminium for each bracket, which once sorted can be leather covered. The windblock has to fit under the folding down hood, and be a few mm above the head restraints. A lot of trial and error at thd start!

Thanks for you replies. It seems like cars with the sparewheel mounted on the back have significant less dust in the cabin. I think it is because of the โWind Breakโ. Nevertheless plus six donโt have spare wheels an I donโt want a spare Wheel. By the way it is also a matter of how you drive the car. Much Full-throttle and speed increases the problem. In my case you can flood the cabin with massive dust in about 50 km. I could imagine that a mounted Luggage-Rack with luggage on it could help to break the sucking air into the cabin. Any thoughts?

This is the completed bracket. Aluminium. The cylinders are threaded spacers to get the right position behind the head restraints. Note that this is for Trads with BL head restraint columns, as used on most BL cars including MG and Triumph. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5979.jpg) The perspex panel can be obtained laser cut and drilled on-line. This was an early version. A later version is a bit bigger, and I dispensed with the neoprene edge. It looks better without it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5988.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5990.jpg) This is the upgraded version. I also made a quarter tonneau cover whichattaches to the rear body frame and attaches to the lower edge of the windstop, so it seals off behind the seats, so no draught between the seats. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/06/23/P1050275.jpg) There are at least three head restraint shapes on trads, so its never been worth producing these commercially..
