Thought it was a DB Speedback but grill is different though they are bespoke.

Forgot about them - just looked them up. Production capped at 100 around 2014. Apparently still going and approaching the target. Cost about half a million or you can have the mini flavour about £100k.

The thread title is very apt!

I've seen this actual car in the metal and had a very good look around it. Unfortunately, to my eyes, it isn't successful at capturing the elegance of the vehicle it is meant to emote.

It feels over sized - more than likely as a result of the Jag under pinnings - and whilst there are a few aesthetically pleasing angles (the ad leads with the best), for the most part I found it looked very ungainly... akin to a professional athlete who then decided to live on a diet of donuts and soda for a few years.

Perhaps the size is an unfair criticism because 'safety' legislation, customer demands, and building methods and increased the size of all modern reworks of classic cars: VW Beetle, BMW Mini, Porsche with their own 911 (park a 1970 next to a 991 and you'll see just how much they've grown!).

As for the interior... once more, the Jag components are all too apparent, for the a half a million pound + new price (given the used price, the market also seems to think so).

The colour, however, is stunning and I couldn't help but ponder how nice a Morgan would look in that exterior colour.

In the bullet points it says Manual but in the blurb it says Automatic? I have to say I think mine is much better looking. Cheers.

This I loved - talk about piss the neighbours off when you front up in this and set your picnic up at the village fete, all the gear supplied for contents behind the seat back.

If you are going to do something in style do it like this , don't hold back.


As for those reinvented Mini's a big no from me, an original Cooper S or nothing.


I'd rather have my Plus 8 over either options as my track record has proven, keep it simple like me.

Don't suppose many remember the mother - in - law or dickie seat. ..
