Scheduled for June 6 & 7 has had to be cancelled.
Reason? Double booked. Course owners, Shenstone Car Club have apologised for the mistake.

I saw the announcement - very sad. I cannot imagine how much work will have gone into organising the event and all for nothing.

I'm at a loss to see how a venue can double book a full 2 day weekend event that's been publicised for many months what with all the H&S stuff, ACU permit licences etc

Huge disappointment to the MTWC and Shenstone need a bloody good spanking !

Reminds me of a freind who was a hotel manager whose worst nightmare came true when two wedding parties turned up for their wedding receptions! His offer was full refund and go away or full refund and join the two weddings into one big reception for both. The latter happened and apparently it was a mega event enjoyed by all.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have been having trouble for ages actually joining the MTWC and looking for some pointers.

The join process online seem to be a bit unclear. However, I submitted a form... and heard nothing. Then after time passed I emailed membership@mtwc.co.uk... and also heard nothing?

Well mistakes can happen, I suppose, but this does seem particularly inept. The MTWC Sprint has been widely advertised, including a half-page colour advert in the June edition of The Automobile magazine, which I imagine was pricey. I hope the MTWC can recover all their costs.

The double-booking, it appears, isn't for another event but a private hire for supercar track days. Still plenty available, if you want to buy one.

According to the Morgan Three Wheeler Racing group on Facebook, the trackdays company booked Curborough last October, while the MTWC booking had been in June. I imagine the supercars are more lucrative for the track owner. It's all very unfortunate.

I am one of the MTWC co-organisers of this special event that had to be cancelled with less than two weeks notice.

Shenstone & District Car Club admitted that its alll their fault and have agreed to all MTWC's costs. That's not much consolation for all the hard work of my fellow organisers who worked their socks off to make this a success, but at least MTWC is not out of pocket. We have given the cancellation as much publicity as possible, but fear that some folk will nevertheless come to Curborough. We have arranged for a notice to be displayed at the entrance apologising, but explaining that MTWC was not responsible.

Just a plug for three wheeler competition: Morgans will be competing at NHCA (motorbikes) Shelsley Walsh on 4 July, VSCC Shelsley on 5 July, NHCA Loton Park on 18 July and VSCC Loton on 19 July.

Ivan has posted a video with a little bit of Morgan content at the beginning relative to his past Morgan ownership and the Curborough cancellation which you might find some interest in, though mostly the vid is about modifying the carb on the 500JAP engine on the Emeryson racer to reduce fuel frothing etc.

Ivan is amusing as always ("Flench letters"!), thanks for posting. The little mention of his Hollywood appearance is also worth a view! There's a ropey copy of what is, by all accounts, a fairly ropey Disney film on YouTube: The London Connection. The first 10 minutes are worth a view for any 3-wheeler fan.

Returning to Curborough, Ivan is clearly as upset as anyone at the cancellation. I've read one report that, if true, sheds more light on why the Morgans were bounced and not the supercars:
