Learnt a lesson yesterday, it was 40 deg, so hood up and aircon on..All was good until I drove through a localised swarm of locusts.. I have spent the last hour poking the bodies out of the front grill and lower grill..!! Now the wasps are eating whats left.. So don't drive through a locust swarm.😄

Daily driver in this weather - never drove it as much locally.

Trip to the Dordogne and South of France, its been scorching...but now back in Brittany and home tomorrow. The Six is covered in dust inside and out and the front looks like its murdered a years worth of bugs, also had one small bird splat on front trying to carry what looked like a greengage that was too heavy for it, it bounced off the front, greengage splattered and bird bounced. flew away though, car ok.
South of France and Dordogne very hot pushing 40 deg C or over most days the last week. There has been a wildfire ripping through, but we avoided the area. Just missed the Tour de France, it was interesting to see the highway gangs white lining and strimming the road edges the race uses. Hats off to the villages that the race passes, they spent days putting out bunting and multi coloured road side arrangements.. very impressed.

We came back from a trip couple of weeks ago in the heatwave - Bilbao, San Sebastián, Biarritz then up the coast past Bordeaux and Vendee across the Loire and up to Caen.

I would have taken the Morgan but SWMBO vetoed it (space and heat concerns) 43deg one day it would have been brutal even with AC.

Never experienced 43C. I had a photo from a business trip to Rio, in my black wool pinstripe suit, standing next to a sign reading 42C. By the time we got home I had to bin that suit. It had shrunk from getting so wet.

The other day, 32C, roof down, air-conditioning at 2/3 max fan and it was a pleasant drive. But 43C, brutal!

In the process of checking the Six over after its 2K mile trip South through France, the drivers door lock release handle failure is the plastic clip that connects the operating rods, it appears to have deformed a little in the heat, allowing the rod to detach, will order 2 new replacements for both sides and tie wrap the rods onto the clip as per suggestions.

The only other failures found so far are the closing ramp rubbers on the door lock striker plates, located on the rear pillar. They are rubber with a copper wear insert and allow the lock to slide up when the door is closed, both sides have semi melted/softened the rubber.. I cant find direct replacements yet on the internet, VW van ones are very similar, but dont look eactly the same, in the normal sources of classic parts online I cant find the same design.. Be interesting to find out who makes these for Morgan. In the mean time I will need to try and order replacements via Morgan. Bet they are not cheap.

The passenger side sunshade vanity mirror has also lost a lot of its silvering, so the mirror needs replacement, looks like the adhesive that fixed it in place has lifted the silvering. It will be a winter project as unlikely to be parts available from Morgan, will have to use fishing line to cut through the glue on back of mirror and get a glass maker to copy and make a new mirror.

The only other failure was a 3D printed sunshade for the sat nav, it melted and deformed.. same as last year.. from two different makes.. I tried using the sat nav without the shade and it may be ok just as is..

As a side note, I recharged the AC before going to France, this turned out to be a wise move.. it was very much needed. It will cope ok upto about 37 deg C with hood up, but past that temp it starts to lose the race of heat vs cooling.

Same happened to mine a couple of months ago - reattached the rod to the nylon block and it’s not failed since. Sounds like a design fault.

Yes definitely tie wrap the block if you have the door card off.

Prospective owners apparently look at this thread for real world review content so I thought I would recount my latest trip in my MY22 plus 4 to Italy for a students reunion [all retired now] . Hull Rotterdam ferry no problem with the boat and we were one of the first off so quick to the motorway but our road trip freinds who were only a few cars behind on the deck were 2 hours stop start queuing to get past the EES at passport for which you need to get out of the car to be "biometricised" {DFS Newcastle is better. But it meant we did a long 60mph dawdle to the Ardennes waiting for them to catch us which returned a gratifying 67mpg for 3 hours motorway complete with the usual Belgian vagaries of roadwork queues and even more inexplicable lines of functionless cones than the UK.
After the Malmedy memorial on to a night in France when I realised my overzealous concern about soft top security had lead to my taking our bag with passports iPad etc into our lunch stop and leaving it there! Mercifully honest landlord kept it behind the bar and opened early so we could do the 2 1/2 hour drive to retrieve the said accursed bag then off to Bad Ragaz in Switzerland to regroup with the rest of to road trip{Ferrari and an Alpine so easy to get more car adoration on the stops] This was a 10 hour drive on motorways and passes and both of us arrived comfortable at the hotel which I am not sure would not be the case in our other car.
The passes to Silvaplana and t Moritz were a delight Though sad to join in mourning the fast retreating glaciers still smug with my mph compared with my travelling companions. Then lovely roads down to lake Iseo.to a great winery with some accommodation for a week to join our non road trip reunion team. Took in the Mille Miglia and acquiesced to visit the Ferrari rally at Lake Como ,loved the Italian petrolattzi taking selfies with the Morgan and not the Ferraris
Car handled the temperature without a problem[original radiator] But did keep eye on weather radar and her undercover in the winery for the inevitable evening electric storms which was lucky as the accompanying hail gave a rental Fiat a wonderful copperbeaten patina
Return home via St Gotthard and Sustens passes [beware the two wheeled kidney donors] Then an impressive visit to to Schlumph collection at Mulhouse
Two nights in Kayserburg [Worth the trip] then on to Namur[Stay at the chateau in the citadel it's owned by the council but run as a hospitality training school if only our own town councils were as enterprising]
Went to Waterloo as it was the anniversary of the battle the did our own battle with the motorway around Antwern [Wellington had it easy] the ferry home
Overall no issues despite 34degrees in Italy and -1 on the top of the passes. hours at 130kmph and enough luggage on the back for 2 weeks[ security at the ferry asked me to open the boot, when I stated the obvious they made me open the bonnet in case some very impressive people smuggling was at play
