It will be powered by four cylinder engine not the six. Yes, they are stating: BMW B46 2.0L Inline Four-Cylinder TwinPower Turbo with 255bhp for the American Supersport version; rather than 335bhp (286 per tonne) from the BMW inline six in the ROW version. I assume this is because they have US homologation for the Plus Four with the same engine.

I assume this is because they have US homologation for the Plus Four with the same engine. I think this is spot on. So, in effect, the CXV chassis is permitted in the US. On a factory tour last year I asked if the Plus Four might become available with the CXV chassis and the answer was "unlikely, because of US homologation for the CX chassis". Seems that argument is out of the window.

4 cylinder and calling it the same "SuperSport" seems to be a bit of a cheat. Almost $30,000 more for just the different look?

I think a P4 Supersport would sell in the UK at the right price point.

It would be interesting car, a UK P4 Supersport increases the common parts like chassis etc., probabily deliver greater economies of scale, improve the doors and sidescreen in what would possibly become the base model in the Morgan range offering a boot, hard top, solid wheels, A divergence from the more P4 known attributes eg bonnet louvres. It would be interesting to understand the current demand for which body style is in ascendance.......................
