Same..the supersport called, but after considering all the pros and cons of the supersport we decided to stay with our car.. its caused a lot of debate but our known cars positives still outweigh the negatives.

Many of us have had a thraping and got the man maths a bit wrong who would have thought. It will obviously hit home if you have to sell. Trouble is the dealers are not taking in stock and dozens are now going to auction and suppressing prices. Very concerning for morgan you would think at a time when they clearly produce their best products in years. I for one will lump the mileage on and enjoy the car. I think that pretty well everyone who owns a Morgan has lost money now. Long gone are the days of rock solid residuals, but that can be said right across the ‘classic car’ market. If people really need to sell they’ve got to price to almost give the car away such is the amount of over supply and the lack of demand. Ironic, as you say, that Morgan are now building cars that are almost ‘modern’….😁 I can’t imagine it matters to the Italians, they just need to see a return on their investment so need to make MMC appear to be a viable business making a product that buyers want. I think that the catastrophic depreciation has to start putting potential buyers off though….🤷🏼♂️🤦🏻♂️ All that is left to do is drive the hell out of them to make sure you get your money’s worth……🤷🏼♂️😎 🇬🇧🇬🇧

I dont know what is happening in uk but my 2020 plus four has been evaluated at 90000 euros by an expert. This is the price i will received by my insurance in case of write off. Second hands cars at Morgan Belgium are in the same prices and in Germany on mobile.de it is around the same value.

Initial core brand relationships form between ages 16 and 18 and they firm up usually for life in the late twenties onwards. When ever I'm around Morgans at meets, noggins, Malvern ,or just passing on the road, it invariably is a baby boomer driving it. Rarely do I see anyone of the younger generations driving a Morgan. So where is the future demand coming from as the baby bommers die out? The number of adverts for Morgans I've seen being sold by members of the family either due to illness or bereavement, seems to be growing apace. Many low mileage hardly used, cars often in my eyes a terrible opportunity in many ways wasted/missed.
We also maybe seeing a greater realisation that the ICE remaining years is very finite and market prices are starting to reflect that. Most of the EV's I see on the road are usually driven by the younger generations, they have already moved on from the ICE, more recently the age profile is slowly creeping upwards. Come 2030, the pace of change will accelerate as ICE's are either thru cost or restrictions effectively forced off the roads.
I've never bought a car with a view to the investment potential, I bought the car I wanted to drive, and hoped at some point in the future when I came to sell it I didn't lose my shirt over it. Morgan has now become part of the brand establishment that depreciates.......(with a few notable exceptions) so it's a matter of enjoying the car for what it is.and there is a cost associated with that. IMHO tucking them away in hibernation every year, keeping their mileages low with an eye on retaining value, may prove to be a false promise going forward...enjoy them whilst you can.
Depreciation is a relative thing, if I had kept my 1985 4/4 which I bought in '87 for £14,500 I would probably still get most of that money back today, although the purchasing power of that money has diminished dramatically in the intervening years. £14500 in 1987 would be the equivalent of £53000 today.......I ineffect paid more for my 4/4 converted to today's prices than my Plus Four of similar age when purchased last year, but vastly different cars both the performance, build quality and equipment by comparison...sobering thought when looking at the relative cost.in 1987 uplifted for inflation to 2024 prices........so my current CX Morgan represents far greater value for money secondhand than my 1985 4/4 did.
How times changed in1987, the official waiting list to buy a new car from the Morgan was approximately seven to eight years. By the end of the decade, the massive backlog peaked at nearly ten years, now its a matter of months, and hence relative retained values of the cars in part reflect this.

I had a chat with a P6 owner. A recent repair to their P6 involved a new wing, front valance, new indicator light, repairs done at MMC after a slight rtc. Headlight was ok. Cost was close to £9k. Insurance for the other party covered it. Basic parts are not cheap! I think a new bare wing is about £2.5k, new indicator £100 ( comes complete so no simple lens cover easy fix), add in paint......labour min £100/hr. It was only a slight carpark ding.

A small prang can very expensive. A headlight for a Audi Q5 or Land Rover can easily be £2k+ for one headlight.
An accident I saw a few days ago - no air bags were deployed, car still drivable - on a Mercedes Benz GLC, had £8k of Parts - the labour and paint would have the repair bill at £15k easily.....
Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

As much as I like the Supersport, its a fair bit of extra cash to change from the Plus Four, and as I mentioned earlier there are other cars I also fancy. I've never had a Ferrari, but I'm currently looking at a 2014 Ferrari California 30, the last of the naturally aspired V8's, just before they introduced the twin turbo version......Black with cream leather and only 10k miles carbon fibre everything including the number plate holder, excellent serivce history..........the California is a more practical, easier to maintain (relatively), no engine out belt changes required, and a localish Ferrari specialist will help keep a relative lid on the service costs.............Sue likes the look of it, so an all black Morgan and Ferrari garage may soon be on the horizon., I was going to trade in the Merc, so she could drive the California to work, but that just brought roars of laughter....so the Merc maybe consigned to living outside.
I know Morgan modern electrics can be battery voltage sensitive, and a trickle charger is advised if not used for more than a couple of weeks, the informed opinion on the Ferrari if not using it for more than a day, due to fickle votage sensivity systems to put it on a trickle charge...........oh what am I letting myself in for.........need to drive it and then worry later about the rest.

I know more than one person who owns a California, one of whom is a Morgan owner. Both love their Ferraris and both have had very reliable service from them, with no concerns of note. Personally, I think they are huge value for money and I've watched prices firm up over the last 12-months. Given many of the other modern V8 Ferraris are rapidly increasing in value, I can see a California being a very sensible purchase.

The 2014 Ferrari Califoria 30 production was starting to benefit from improving quality control, this vartiant the 30 dropped 30 kgs in weight and gained 30 bhp over the standard California taking it upto 490,bhp, Still of that era that suffered although slightly less from the sticky buttons,, they had cured the earlier engine issues and the gearbox software problems.......it's the folding roof mechanism which may run out of alignment whch is £15k to fix and the leather shrinking and bubbling when left in the open, plus sump and power steering gaskets leaking on low mileage cars over time to watch out for, But other than that they generally seem to be quite reliable and useable by Ferrari standards. This one has been a bit of a garage queen only 2000 miles in last 9 years..........need to see how in drives, as the gearbox has a reputation for not being smooth in traffic..
They are a pretty car, I can just get it in the garage with the mirrors folded, so it's tight and don't want to forget and smack them as that would be an expensive lesson. so lets see what the drive and specialist inspection/assessment shows up.The later turbo's are quicker and better handling less of a grand tourer ........but I'm not looking for a track day car.
