We just had a weekend jaunt on Salisbury Plain. We used some of the Fosse, so via Stow, Burford, Lechlade, Swindon, Devizes. The early morning run down was on deserted roads. What became apparent was the number of bright yellow new cars we saw over the weekend. It must be a thing. So fashion is catching me up again.

On the way back up the Fosse, we passed a Google Maps camera car in a lay by, and saw a Range Rover in works camo near Gaydon. Our farmer friend, who runs a Disco has been told by the dealer that a new petrol Disco is due in December, so he's waiting to see what emerges.

So much for traditional two turntable discos!

One of the local lads was showing me around his DJ desk last week, it's truly mind-boggling the tech that these guys use. Also mind-boggling is the sheer number of different genres they identify within electronic music (See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electronic_music_genres) A far cry indeed from the days when my mate's brother had a single turntable and a couple of crates of 45s.

Back on topic yellow not for me and had you have had three babies all breast fed you wouldn't be so keen either as their pooh is just that sort of bright yellow and stinks like a skunk, ah the joys of multiple fatherhood but no yellow cars for me thank you or red but for different reasoning - look at me they just shout at you !

The aerial riggers we used painted our aerial masts with a Zinc Chromate Primer just that colour too and when they came down the 600 footers they were like brilliant yellow bananamen in their diposable ovees.

Followed by a grey micacious top coat, very hard to apply but lasted well.
Brave men all of them.

I prefer my cars like my woman dark deep and mysterious not shouty .

Horses for courses.

Not just electronic music! I went to see Metallica a few weeks ago, and they were supported by a band called 'Gojira'. Not my bag, but I googled them.

"Gojira's sound blends several styles. Rooted in technical death metal, the band also incorporates thrash metal, groove metal, progressive metal, and post-metal. They have also incorporated math metal and avant-garde metal into their music."

I have no idea what any of that means......

Hopefully Yellow cars are making a comeback, most new cars are boring shades of white, black or grey.

Two weeks ago I took my Grand daughter to a school holiday activity, on the way she said Papa do you want to play Yellow car, the first person to see a yellow car wins, I have been told it is a game kids like these days. We saw one on the way there and I saw 2 on the way back on my own, considering we saw a fair few thousand cars yellow is not well represented.

That was a game when my kids were young (they're all in their 30s now!) It was called "Yellow Car - Mini"; you got a point for being the first to see a yellow car and another for a Mini. If you spotted a yellow Mini you won the right to punch your fellow passengers in the leg.

I can only remember owning two yellow cars myself (one of which I still have). There does seem to be a move away from black and silver at last; I've noticed more colourful cars around in the last few years. My last two tin-tops have both been red.
