Gents,

Had a email from our Morgan dealer here in Oz, stating that the works were building a 3 wheeler solely for Australian crash testing and ADR purposes for this coming April, has anyone heard of any such vehicle or am I still getting the 'hurry up and wait emails" ?

This is sounding more and more promising for us poor old sun drenched convicts, only a few months ago the possibility of a M3W hitting Oz shores looked to be a very long winded, drag it out and it will go away process, so much so I started thinking about personally importing three vehicles and selling two to help offset the cost, something that would be hideously costly and possibly impossible, but worth the effort in my head!!

So I hope the outcome is positive for the crash test, I wont think and don't want to know what the M3W will look like once the test is finished with quiet ..

And for all the other Aussies on here maybe we could start a wait-list ??

A couple of days in minus 32 degrees C would make you seriously re-evaluate "poor" sunny (when you need to heat your beer...then being a convict does not sound that bad).

With the optional Oz-spec super sturdy kangaroo bar you will pass the chrash test with flying flags flag

Good luck, a summer vacation going round Oz in a M3W would be a great journey!

Yep you see for us sun lacking Brits it was 14 today & the Mog was real fun. I remember being in Freo in winter i.e. 25 with the locals in coats & me in shorts. I reckon a summer drive across Oz in a 3 wheeler would be a tad hot.

In my last company we sold rubber to line fluid circuits in mining & the biggest incident report from around Kalgoorlie & Mount Isa were company cars hiting roo bars. Fun place Kalgoorlie.

Hello from New Zealand

Just to let our cousins over the ditch know that a demonstrator is now registered and on the road in Christchurch !!!!

No pix as yet !

I hope to fly down for a drive within the next couple of weeks.

In theory my car is being built at present !!! and hope to get it landed end April.

So if anyone is at the factory and sees a Sport sand with check'd flag under the name Smith, then please post a photo !!

Crash test means that the Oz system must be looking at it as a car. They don't put bikes through crash tests and I am sure that the motorcycle based trikes have not had to do crash tests.

The whole issue of vehicle safety regulations in Australia is bogged down by rules and regulations that don't always make sense. I've never understood why they could not accept the standards of another country as ok for Australia. In other words if it is ok for the whole of Europe why would it not be ok for Australia without putting the manufacturer to expense of a whole new lot of tests. As a general rule quads can not be road registered in Australia despite the fact that you see them all over UK and Europe.
