I would just add that the Rev Counter in the cars is not always accurate and the best way is to use a remote rev counter such as on timing lights.

It could of course be down to the accuracy of the rev counter.
Correcting myself for sake of accuracy: When i look closer at my rev counter with warm engine, it actually idles at 900 rpm and not 1000 as I originally said.

Deejay, I'd go with rev counter accuracy if it sounds right!
