The players on stage change, the scenery improves, but the playbook never changes. By that I mean ongoing product quirks, which should not be there, slow supply of parts, and a less that expected interest in owners after the initial sale.

I'm not talking about the dealers. They are caught in the middle. But despite seeing the evolution in my era from long door trads to Aeros, and a shedload of engine changes, then the CX cars, ownership issues have not changed at all. The same things manifest in completely different cars for different reasons, but the outcome is the same.

I dont mind all the marketing hype, Morgan is very akin to Harley in selling their interpretation of the product ideal' live style', both use models and scenario's which rarely reflect the actual customer profile,

What they also have in common is their customers' deep rooted appreciation of the brand, despite all the engineering issues, they never seem to really fix before introducing brand new one's, with each successive new model. , which rarely deters anyone, as repeat business is very much the norm as they both get under your skin, almost addictive, something that is definety worth trying to bottle.

As long as it keeps Morgan going and continues to be based in Malvern.....it;s a small price tp pay,

MMC's attempt to improve on the marque with new blood from Pininfarina is a miserable failure to my minds eye. It reminds me of the ugly Jowett Javelin with that steep slope to the rear end. Also the attempt to scallop flat sections onto the front wings is a half way house that would have looked better with sharper edges like the legendary MG F type Magna had.

The Tata motor company (owners of Jaguar and Land Rover) could surely manage a limited run of 1,000 anniversary Morgan models with a return to basics that a smiling Indian mechanic could fabricate and supply at a fraction of the cost without the fiddly-ally-chassis.

The difficult aspect to designing something is to simplify a structure, and at the same time retain elegance and aesthetic appeal.

Thanks for posting this video.
I had to laugh about the bikes. As often is the case, the actors are clearly not experienced bike riders and feel very insecure about it. This is all from a Dutch perspective, we immediately spot a “foreigner” on a bike in traffic.

Were the driver to have at least the foggiest idea about heel and toeing on the downshift, double-clutching on the way up, trail braking into a fast bend, and then choosing the right line out, then he (or she), would be worthy of being called a Morganeer.
Everything else is fluff, but I suppose that is what it takes to sell cars these days.

My best ‘American’ brand tees cost £2.50, my normal coloured about £1.75 and my white can be £1. Having, bought tees in the hundreds of thousands and promotionally branded them, including retail brands like Hom, Lee Cooper, Moto Guzzi etc , I very rarely wear branded. My wife does not like me in tees as it shows my moobs. Sadly for her I am in Tees and shorts from April to October ! She thinks people will think I’m homeless……
Knowing the likely cost of a garment means I just cannot buy it, unlike my brand obsessed kids. It’s a cross I have to bear.

PS The video was a bit naff . It’s like the Saga ad for travel insurance ( think it’s them which shows how poor it is). I just want to hit that smug git , his wife should clobber him rather than kiss his offered cheek !

Large groan factor. Another of those trying too hard, saying nothing promos. The Morgan Woodburner is nice. Hope it's not connected to any radiators though.
