Can anyone recommend somewhere in or near North Yorkshire to service and MOT our 4/4. Ledgerwood have sadly announced they have closed for business after 50 years. Many thanks.

Steve have you considered servicing the car yourself? If you cover over 1000 miles a year you will likely be already familiar with greasing the front suspension which requires this to be done over the period. All that's needed are a jack, axle stands, grease gun plus a few spanners imperial and metric, all of which can be bought for less than cost of one garage service.
Regarding MOT any garage registered to perform class 4 (car and light van) tests will be able to renew. You may need to explain the fly off handbrake and greasy front suspension (unique to trad Morgan's) although excess should be cleaned off.

Steveo, If you are not inclined to get down on the ground and fettle your car or more comfortable allowing people with more experience to work on your car, I've always used Lifes near Southport for all my trads, but that's some distance away and of course in Lancashire............... However, I now with the CX use the factory at Malvern for all my servicing, make a great couple of days out of it, stay in local hotel, do the factory tour and make the most of the local amenities, whilst getting to know the folk that built your car.........not the cheapest solution, but gets you immersed more in the Morgan factory family and all things Morgan. I was there a few weeks ago and unexpectedly finished up driving a new Plus Four and the Supersport 400, a couple of hours doing something really enjoyable....I can recommend the sausage sandwich in the Experience Centre cafe.....you always bump into someone who has a Morgan for a good old chin wag.

Steve,
Peter Davidson is based in Durham. His mob. number is 07722157127. He used to work at Beamish Morgan, which is where I last used him. He was very good to deal with, and very knowledgeable.
Having said that, I take my car down to Techniques in Bedfordshire (only about 3.5 hours from Richmond) as they continue do an exceptional job in developing and maintaining my car for road use, sprinting and hillclimbing.
If you are heading to Richmond any time drop me line and we can get a cuppa here.
