Sat at Watford Gap services. Golf has a puncture. No spare tyre, and the goo stuff hasn't sealed the hole. Waiting for the AA to come and relay us to KwikFit. Currently a two hour wait for the AA.
So happy. Supposed to be going up for a GIg, so fingers crossed we get up there in time........ Sorry to read this Phill - hope you got to the gig alright.

My mate bought a V90 just before I bought an XC60. After getting it he then ordered a spare wheel with his . Fair bit of money but when he came to use it, he hadn’t ordered a jack and tyre lever . Volvo didn’t suggest it would be a good idea !!! I then ordered full kit as we were going to a very remote Croatian island with no garage workshop and was worried about the squirty repair kit. Came but the promised new boot cover , they actually didn’t make ! So it looks a.bit Horlicks but at least I can change the tyre. You invariably need a new tyre if you use their squirty repair kit and it also needs replacing technically if you don’t use it after x number of years at Volvo inflated ( no pun intended) prices Won’t buy a car that I cannot take a spare wheel but that spare wheel web site is well under the Volvo cost, so next car will use that info. Sorry to read that Phil. I agree re the lack of spares on modern cars being a risk.
I have had a puncture a couple of times in the Mog's and have used the "we come to you" mobile services. They don't always have the exact tyres to hand but usually have the ability to do a simple puncture on the van or spec replacement. They have been pretty quick, faster than the AA.
At the last tyre replacement I retained the best older one from the front and rears (different sizes) as emergency tyres. If they cannot get a spare and I am near home I can get the spare run out to me by a friend. They can fit that as an enabler then I can get it sorted without the pressure. They usually have a £100 call out +tyre/puncture charge.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

This is a concern on the plus six, as it has different wheel widths front vs. rear. So, no spare is offered. Also, being auto, if it's a mechanical breakdown, it needs unlocking from Park, to get it onto a trailer. Cheap looking two piece tool is supplied and a paragraph in the handbook. I need to practice that, not sure how you can reach underneath with such low ground clearance!
No jack or goo supplied with mine. I bought them and Krazy Horse gave me foc, a pre-loved(!) bag for the jack, which cleaned up nicely. So, I suppose, if the car's in a safe location, it would be possible to remove the offending wheel to get a tyre changed.
In the last 5 years I've had two car punctures and two on motorbikes. Never had it happen prior to that. Pot holes?

My Volvo doesn't have a spare, only the squirty goo. Had to use that once to get me home, but it did cost a new tyre. My Volvo is a hybrid so the space for a spare is taken up with batteries, so, apart from leaving the spare in the load area I can't carry one. One advantage with Volvo, assuming you have the car serviced by a Volvo dealer, you get free call out at the press of a button, and free puncture repair at the dealer.

Having left Rushden at 9.00am, we finally arrived in Manchester at 6.00pm.
Quick hotel check in, dumped the bags , jumped on the tram and made it to the gig in time for the main act. Off to Stoke tomorrow for another gig, fingers crossed we have no further issues!
Thanks for all the advice, food for thought for the next car.

Pleased to learn that you made the main gig. Good job you left plenty of time.
I second the idea of buying a space saver. Last Autumn, I bought one for Mrs F's Mini Clubman. The kit came in a fabric case which sticks to the boot carpet with velcro and includes a jack and wheel brace (jack is a tad flimsy but it does work). Less than 8 weeks after I got the kit, she clipped a concrete corner at the stables and put a whole the size of my thumb in the side wall of the tyre. No can of goo was ever going to get us anywhere. The space saver kit saved the day.
Our Discovery 5 came with a space saver spare wheel. I really don't like the idea of towing our two horses with a space saver on the car - trailer gross weight fully loaded is around 2.8T. When we bought the car at 2 years old, I asked the dealer about a full sized wheel to match those on the car. The sales chap, to his credit, replied: "You really don't want to buy one of those from me!". When I started shopping around, the Land-Rover price for a wheel on its own was £1100 ish. He wasn't joking.
I found one on eBay, without tyre, for £270. A couple of very minor scratches but no accident damage. A new tyre and valve later and we have a full size spare - which we have already used once as we got a slow puncture in Norfolk last October.
Oh the joys of motoring.

Back in KwikFit, as despite asking them to replace the flat tyre and the drivers side, they'd only done the flat. We were in such a rush, we didn't check the work, and due to being a lease company car, we don't pay.
Just been informed we have a wheel nut missing. Thanks AA man (he swopped front and back so the space saver wasn't on a driven wheel). KwikFit obviously won't release the car until they've got a new nut which means at least an hour wait.
And people wonder why I DIY.......

And today the lease company won't authorise fitting the exact same tyre we had fitted on Friday so more hanging around while they discuss alternatives......
