Hi all, I have a 2005 Roadster with the easy up hood. The hood fabric in the center of the hood is loose and billows upward at speed. I have adjusted both the sides of the hood frame and rear securing pins to try to tighten things up, but was only able to achieve a minimal improvement. Should I be lengthening the sides of the frame, or shortening them? I did adjust the pins at the rear to provide more tension. Any tips on correcting this are appreciated.

My Roadster is four years newer than yours but the hood may be the same design ? Mine does biillow slightly with both the hood and sidescreens in place, but only over 60-70mph. At what speed do you encounter the billowing ? The hood fabric should be fairly taut and it sounds as if you have tried many adjustments, have you looked at the "slider" on the frame which gives about a one inch fore-aft adjustment ? (You may need to shorten the short arm of an Allen key to gain access).

linklaw ... you don't have a cat do you? .... mine was obsessed with sleeping on the hood .... the perfect cat hammock ... and it took that shape after a while! 🙂

Hi all,

No cat. I tried the adjustments recommended in response to my previous question and while the hood tightened up a bit on the sides, I still have the billowing in the center at speed, around 40mph.
