Interesting that Henry suggests that Morgan may be the originators of the restomod, When I suggested a while back that the CX was perhaps the MMC`s answer to the restomod revolution, it seems there may have been some mild dissent....(-:
Henry is a favoured autojourno of mine, and I think he does a grand job of presenting not only the SS 400, to the faithful, but perhaps also to a new group of fans of his as to that which Morgan is and has always been about....?
It's a good review, incredibly well filmed....! I wonder if it is a totally independent and unbiased review or if there is factory involvement.........???🤷🏻♂️🙃😂
It still, imho, looks waaaaaaay better without the hard top.....! But the hard top is a thing of unrivaled beauty compared to the monstrous carbuncle of a coupe......................🤮 I'm holding out to see one in the flesh and perhaps...... maybe.... it'll look better......😎 Park one next to an Aeromax....🤷🏻♂️ I'd imagine I'm in a minority though, and as I'm not a potential new customer just a legacy customer, MMC probably aren't interested in my view either.......😂
Excellent review. First time I've watched a Henry Catchpole video, now I'm certain it won't be the last. Interesting comments from Jonathan Wells, worth watching for that alone. Still can't afford one ...
Having driven the same Morgan 400 as H,, although only for about 25 minutes, I wasn't too impressed by it. Mind you it was roof up, so slightly sterised the driving experience.. Maybe jumping out of my Plus Four into the 400, having just spent 3.hours driving roof down to Mavern from just before sunrise, maybe coloured my expectation. But on startup, the injector clatter wasn't impressive, the car was certainly potent, but without the exhaust valve open wasn't that much of a growl as I was expecting. The 400 is very fast, it handled really well, it certainly felt more planted than mine over the same country lanes and at a much higher speeds.
. I'm sure some will find the extra money required well worth it. I think because of the more intimate smaller cockpit feel to the Plus Four, I would consider upgrading my suspension and ecu power output and tyres before lashing out the extra cash required to acquire the 400. If someone was to give me one, I certainly wouldn't say no.
