That's a very clever bit of photoshopping as far as holding a pint goes -perhaps an AI piece...

Hard to believe anything these days given our sources of information have been infiltrated to the extent that lies are accepted as the new truth... ?

I do not see man`s inhumanity to his fellow man as attributable to any one nation, given the examples abound across many nations. I remember being told that it was us Brits who created the first concentration camp during the Boer war...?

As I have typed previously, I follow a young lady m/cyclist as she rides around the world, just so happens she is currently in China, and took the time to visit a camp in Harbin, where during the Japanese occupation of that area the camp was used to carry out unmentionable medical experiments of members of the general populace. After the Americans cleared the camp, apparently they kept all the results of the research, and no one was seemingly held to answer for the atrocities...?

Don`t think you need to look to far to find another would be dictator and a tribe of many followers who seem to have the will to badly treat folk of colour, perhaps even put women back in their place..?

I think it was Pol Pot in Cambodia who decided that if one wore glasses one might be a threat as an intellectual, thus should be executed....

I do wonder at leaders who gather sycophants around them and in the process replace hard won wisdom with ignorance....Hmm..?

If interested in the Japanese camp in China you can beam in at 18 mins in to the video.

Of course George you believe what you choose to fit best but it has always been so, as a vacuum of news such as you and I lived through due to very little media output unlike the deficating enormity of today left you in the same situation.

At least we lived under our firms motto "No Information is always better than false Information".

So no help todays kids with not a vestige of common sense but 4 A levels they can't decide whether they need the can or not. just dither..

Do read Leon Uris QB VII also Dr Mengele's vile experimentation on women in the Gestapo camps.

We did invent the Concentration Camps but others utilised them to further dehumanise the poor souls that were incarcerated there by carrying out medical experiments on them to further accelerate the Arian Race.

So I totally disagree with you - some nations including the Japanese and Chinese actively enjoy such practises.
You just watch one of their abysmal TV game shows - now that is sickness personified.

As for firm beliefs, not sure I have many of those. Totally disagreeing, and making the point of informing those I disagree with.... Hmm..? I think I might mostly avoid doing so.... Perhaps my nature is somewhat flawed....(-:

It is a current sickness that people are not happy about expressing their point of view George, we are all different thankfully - I spent most of my career changing old farts working procedures for newer methodology, sure they were unhappy as their leisurely pace suited their state of mind but someone has to lead and get the job done on time.

Had they had a vestige of get up and go they could and should have seen me off 😎

I had not realised that I might be unwell, other than the usual old man issues... (-: I guess my natural failing might be that unless pushed into a corner, I seem unlikely to attempt to become forceful to any degree... But as you rightly typed thankfully we are all different..

I was not always a BOF, but content to be regarded as one such these days. I well remember the BOF`s and my initial thinking relative to them when I first entered employment, with my last company at age 27 in what was a rather dynamic ever evolving environment, the pace of which seemed to accelerate exponentially with the passage of time, until I became the BOF.... All of which seems no more than natural progression... I suspect we all may be no more than products of our age and experiences..? (-:

I feel most fortunate to very rarely have been in a situation to make a stand, but have done so with a mix of failure and success.... As for my thinking on being an admitted BOF with other than belligerent tendencies, I kinda like the following analogy.. I thought my father a fool when I was 15 years old, and was amazed how much HE had learned by the time I reached the age of 21... (-:

Suspect there is fortunately a worthwhile place for us BOF`s in any society..? (-:.

Well I thought this was the space for BOF's once I saw gomog on here posting George.

My late Father was a brilliant pilot his Log Books tell me, but at everything else he made a complete mess of his life - so once again we have opposing views as the only thing I ever listened and learnt from him was flying.

That and not having a mother from 18 months made me robust and independent - the only advise I heed is from my wife btw,, the rest is static on the air waves.

The exception being Arwyn for all things Morgan, he is the real deal.

Sorry Richard, the mention of gomog flew over my head, ( no pun intended) though happy to type that Lorne and I are of a similar age, and that I counted myself fortunate to have enjoyed his friendship and company in times past..

My mention of the father and son was no more than a generalisation and in no way related to my own father who was a far better man than I could ever be...

Opposing views are not an issue for me, they hopefully add to my wider education, though I well understand that those who might expect others to believe in that which they themselves believe in, and to the same degree as they do, may by their nature may make their point a tad more forcefully, perhaps dependant on their frame of mind while typing.... Shrug.

BTW, I learned the "shrug" from conversing with Lorne on the MSCC DG in the mid 90`s, seems he was well ahead of the game before it became obvious that it was all to simple for poor punctuation skills to entirely alter the perceived intended meaning of words initially typed, long before it seems the much needed smiley faces and their likes exploded onto the scene...(-:
In serch of a measure of synergy, at least you, Lorne and I favour the same old Rover V8 powering our Morgans... (-:

As always, each to their own works well enough for me....
