Spokes were "pinged" and all seemed ok, even the one where the tear is. Tyreis new with only 300 miles. No clues as to why it happened. Outside chance of a bump during new tyre fitting?

If so the tyre monkey has caught the inner seal with the lever or the nasty air tool bead breaker, I've had the same & they don't admit catching it - you just find a slow puncture a few days later
You may struggle to get a good seal from a patch-up as silicone does not stick well to existing, I had to grind out all the split area
