I am thinking of upgrading the rubber brake lines with Goodridge Stainless Stell Braided ones. Together with EBC Green Stuff pads to front of 2002 4/4.
Any comments, tips ??

I did this some time ago, marked improvement. Speak to Mike Duncan, he has all the kit.

I had them fitted just before mog 1993 and set off for it on the return the front nearside came off at the roundabout before the m/way . My insurance broker was behind me I missed a few cars by a cats whisker . It sprayed the mog with brake fluid . The garage had not tightened it on ( left it to a youngster ) They resprayed the car and I redone all the brakes and changed to silicone brake fluid . It was not my time had it happened on the m/way at a stonking speed I would be now putting coal on the fire .Make sure they are on tight and keep checking them if not you may end up with brown pants .

No comment on the EBC pads (I've had them on other motors and they've been fine). Stainless braided hoses - GO FOR IT!

When I rebuild the 69 4/4 I have been considering a brake upgrade as they feel a little "dead". I have been thinking of various options such as a servo, 4 pot front calipers etc but wonderd if by just upgrading the flexi hoses and using the Green Stuff pads whether would make a marked improvment. Any one else done this and seen a good improvement on braking without going for the servo 4 pot option?
Thanks in advance

I fitted Goodridge hoses to my Moto Guzzi Le Mans. The impact is certainly large of a motor bike. You will notice the difference

I'm running braided hoses and brake reaction bars (the bars were only fitted trying to mitigate another problem).
A pal of mine has also fitted a servo, but I find they take away some of the feel - OK you don't need the same brake pedal pressure, but to me it loses some feel.
I don't think you'll need the 4-pot calipers unless you're planning to go racing...

Graham, I agree you do loose some of the feel through your foot but as we get older I find its more easy on my foot I can just feather the brakes . Mike & Ben Duncan fitted mine with a servo and 4 pot (Billet ) in 2009 Ben said the set up was one hell of a lot better than Morgans new stuff at the time and it increased my brakes by about 40% according to Ben . Comes in handy with todays idiots . The only down side apart from feel is that it would be easy to bald patch your tyres if you are silly . I'm running braided hoses and brake reaction bars (the bars were only fitted trying to mitigate another problem).

Braided hoses are a good idea, especially if your rubber ones are the originals.
I've used a lot of EBC pads, mostly yellow and blue. The yellows have a habit of binding to the discs if left wet in a garage, just washing the wheels is enough. I now dry them off with a quick spin around the block. This may not be an issue with greens, but if you can't move the car after a wet drive or wheel wash, you'll know why.
Brake reaction bars are cheap, easy to install and really add confidence when braking heavily (even if you only do it once in a blue moon!), highly recommended.
Have fun, Phill

Excellent, thanks for all the comments, think I'll try the simple options first and see how the brakes feel and pull up.
