Hi Everybody,
Last summer I had the great fortune to visit the Morgan factory and place an order for a Plus 4. So I have spent plenty of time during the past few months reading Talk Morgan and working out the options - the contributions have been really helpful.
Of course, the most tricky decision was choosing the colour. The classic shape lends itself well to two-tone, and I also think gives it an even more traditional feel. I was lent a few samples at the factory and the one colour that stood out was "Bentley Bronze" (ie a type of brown). This I've matched with "sport white", which is not really white, but a slightly paler version of ivory. Surprisingly there was no brown leather to match the bronze, but saddle brown seems to look fine. Now I'm a bit anxious about, in effect, having 3 colours - we shall see!! Actually it's now too late, as I've just heard that they have finished building it and it is waiting to go off to have the extras fitted, and will be ready for collection next Thursday. Can't wait.
I live now in Munich, so after flying to England with my daughter to pick up the car, I'll spend a couple of days in Shropshire (where I come from) before heading down to Dover on Easter Sunday. Just my luck that there could be a tanker driver strike next week.
It's quite a military exercise, as in the meantime my wife and son will drive up in our Volvo to meet us at Calais (there's limited room in the Morgan for bottles of the nice stuff you find en route back to Munich). We shall then spend a week driving back to Munich via Champagne, Alsace, Black Forest and Bavaria. I figure that in this time the car and myself will get to know each other pretty well!

Hi Gashers and welcome to TM another lurker who has finally posted.
Personally I think only have 3 colours is very conservative, but then what do I know. More importantly I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself once your car arrives and its certainly going to attract attention in Munich.

Nice first post and congratulations on the new car. The colour combo sounds great to me, but we look forward to seeing the photos? It sounds like the Volvo will be fully loaded by the time you return from your trip, looking forward to your further posts. Brian

+1 Sounds like you will be having a good holiday to go with the new car! If you're not too busy on Easter Saturday (and we can all get fuel ) pop down to Prescott Hill Climb - I hope there will be some Morgans in attendance. Cheers,

Welcome to the forum Gashers. Sounds like a great colour combination - some photos will be LUVVERLY when you get back home.
We live in Kent so will watch out for you motoring down the A2/M2/A2 to Dover on Easter Sunday (SWMBO + offspring + grandkids usually have a family outing planned for that weekend).

Grusti I lived for 4 wonderful years in Holzkirchen. I can't think of a better natural environment for a Mog than the voralpenland.
Picture please PS as you can see 2 tones do it for me

Nice idea ! What a helpful wife you have. I suspect that if I told 'er indoors that she'd be following along on the V70 being the baggage train I'd get told exactly where to go. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Grusti. As you will have realised we are all mad, but you must be to own a Morgan, and so you will fit right in.

Jay,
It's an early competition day - first meeting of the season, Saturday only. Mainly BOC competing members, but also opened to a few car clubs, though I see the MSCC SpeedMog lot did not take it up. There will be two +8s in the BOC over 2000cc Sports Car Class (just received the paperwork today). A round of the Paul Matty Championships, so a good collection of classic cars - some nice classic single seaters (inc. an amateur radio pal from nearby) too. See you there?
Cheers,
Graham (G4FUJ)
