Hi Pierre, I changed my S1 rear exit exhaust to the twin oval sports, it made a tremendous difference, both the quad & the ovals are a very worth while upgrade. Side exits are also worth considering, but as per my thread I find them a little tame unless your in the high numbers!

All I can add is that the sound is fantastic both at tick over and on higher revs. One of the advantages and disadvantages of the single side exit on my previous S2 was that it was quiet as a pussy cat on tickover and only barked when revved. The SS system is far more aggressive/boisterous all round. As the owner of Boshers' old S2, I can only state it as a disadvantage. She's too damned quiet below 2500rpm. Want to get the boxes changed this summer to give it some more bark to go with this car's considerable bite...

Hi! I'm considering to fit a rear sport exhaust on my S3 in order to get a better sound as I feel my car to be electrically powered!!! Does it worth the expense? Pierre Pierre, best sounding Aero I have heard was my old S1 on Librands quad exit sports pipes and sports catalysts. Classic muscle car burble at tickover, lovely at speed. If you already have rear exit pipes, don't bother with sidepipes - just get the quad rear exit system from Brands Hatch Morgan. I would convert my sidepipe-equipoped S2 with the system, but it would leave two conspicuous holes in the running boards where the side exit pipes currently sit - hence I have to get some new side exit boxes made instead.

Pierre,
I have an S3 with a rear Librands Sports Exhaust (quad pipes). I've only had my Aero 6 weeks and spent some considerable time searching for a car with this as part of the configuration. The sound is fantastic (old school grunt) and I love the way the car looks from the rear - proper mean !! With the side exhausts I didn't like the the look of the car from the rear.....a gap where something was missing.
Each to their own......but I'd personally choose rear Librands over side exhausts every time.
Rob Good things come to those who wait but they've usually been left by those who got there first!

Side exhausts sound odd to me because you don't get to hear all eight cylinders.
For me it sound like a miss-firing 8

Just to add to the 'it takes all sorts' culture that Morgan Aeros probably encourage, I love the single exit side exhaust system, and really appreciate the way it doesn't shake the earth unless you put your foot down a bit.
I've driven an Aero SS with the twin side exhausts, and enjoyed the extra rumble for a short blast, but found it got a bit tiring. (I'm not yet deaf as far as I know!)
The rear exhausts are great too, and give a more traditional V8 experience. I suppose ultimately all the options are great in different ways, and you pays your money and takes your choice.
On the single exit sides, rolling down the side windows increases the noise a lot, and changes the vocal characteristic in a way that I love for lower speed motoring.
Agree that the rear of the car looks better with diffuser or rear pipes - otherwise looks like something is missing. I may add the diffuser at some point.
Love it!!

Is the diffuser available for the S1?

I seriously want to convert the sidepipes to the Librands quad rear - but have no idea what to do with the gaps that will leave in the running boards! Hmm...
