I can't really add anything that hasn't already been said. The front suspension issues have been hyped up, and perpetuated over the years by ignorant journalism. I've nearly always had cars with grease nipples because I prefer cars with character. MG's are nearly all so equipped. Some Triumphs have an arrangement whereby you have to remove a grub screw, before screwing in a nipple, then do the greasing before taking the nipple out and replacing the grubscrew. The Dolomite range had three of these on the propshaft. Not buying a Morgan because of the front suspension is like not dating a beautiful woman because she has a mole........ Just do it.

reputable Garage will grease a car in under 1 hour, so even if they charge 1 hours labour @ £25-30 How much!?  All garage servicing in future will now be conducted "up North" at half the price!!!!  yep it is very reasonable and cost effective to live in the north, unlike Berkshire (maidenhead) where i resided for 2 years, lovely part of the country, but by god they now how to have your  and thats aimed at a range of things, retail industry, eating etc

Warm welcome to the Morgan world. You will never regret it. I have the thumb in the middle of my hand but greasing the front suspension is not a big issue. AND, you do definitely not need a hammer.

Graham G4FUJ and Steve A11OGE haven't added their two-pennuth yet. C'mon boys - are you both asleep?  No. I was marshalling Prescott Drivers' School yesterday. Well, marshalling?? More like trying not to drown. First job on arrival - there's a tree down on the return road. An hour later: Err, there's a tree down on the return road... In future I will wear a plaid shirt when attending my local Hill Climb course. And a wetsuit... Sir P. - stop prevaricating. Just DO IT!!! As someone else has said - if you're not sure about any of this mechanicing bit, ask at your local MSCC gathering - you'll probably have difficulty finding space under your car to see what all the guys are doing... Get the 4/4 bought. the greasing is a 5 minute job once you get into the swing of it. I tend to do it every few weeks. I have covered just over 30k miles in the 30 months I have had my 1988 4/4. I have trusted all other maintenance to professionals, first to a local morgan specialist (no dealer) and since moving up north to a recommended mechanic. Although I did recently replace the indicator/headlamp switch unit, for which I am quite proud of myself an non mechanic, in fact I am thinking I might become a bit more adventurous with the toolkit in future....

My Mrgan dealer in Surrey greases my front pins for free whenever I'm in the locality. He has also shown me under the Mog as to whats what' I've now got a Hydraulic Jack and looking foward to waxing the rear springs,applying grease to myself and splashing danish oil Back to the old ways of doing things
I don't care how cold it is, we're having the roof down.

Dear Sir Percy,
If you really can't bear the thought of greasing the frond end you have some options open.
1.With a 4/4 you can ignore the greasing altogether; just add £400 to your service and they'll replace the parts annually. or
2. Forget the 4/4 and buy an Aero 8- in the low £30t's now and I don't think they need any attention. or
3. Find a motorbike garage near you - they'll love to do it for you for almost nothing.
I bet you buy it, after all, you've SEEN it and DRIVEN it so you've had it!
