Why flowers Simon, are you planning a wake? I've always found Paul's posts quite refreshing.

and backed into by a C class Merc who seemed to want it as well. Bent rear wing & paint scuffed off. Oh bother. Ah Paul, sorry to hear that ... hope she gets fixed soon! Brian, I thought flowers were more appropriate from Paul as he's an artist and could jump into a verse of "You Don’t Bring Me Flowers" by Neil Diamond

Shared the car with others a bit too much today. Stopped waiting to reverse round into a space, and backed into by a C class Merc who seemed to want it as well. Bent rear wing & paint scuffed off. Oh bother. Yes, sorry to hear the news Paul. Very inconsiderate of him. I presume that his insurance will be liable?

Many thanks for your commiserations, particularly as I know Aeroman's kite had small prang courtesy of some bounder who did a runner. Fortunately our incident was witnessed by two locals sitting on a bench outside a pub, along with quite a few others who heard my rather loud yell pre-impact, and the evidence makes it all pretty obvious that we were not moving at the time. Ignoring totally the fact that the pub was in the village where I was born, and that my parents still live there, it was possible to detect a certain bias in the comments of the locals afterwards (who once again liked the car & colours, couldn’t believe how quickly we got it.. ”still got a wooden frame....” etc. etc.) Look away now if of a sensitive disposition, but some pictures of the bruises below....would welcome any ideas on seriousness of injury, and nature of surgery required – although will hear from BHM on Monday anyway. Wing bent in at rear & buckled out at top of wheel arch; paint worn at corner of body as well as wing.

For me, and others will no doubt disagree, but I think that you'll need a new wing and also that rear panel looks to have a nasty kink in it. If correct, it won't be a cheap repair. Sorry mate, I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Ouch!!! That hurts Morgan cars are quite low in height, the idiot probably just looked at his rear view mirror and did not see you I have had some close shaves myself, usually chavs tailgating me and one nearly rear-ended me when I have to stopped midway turning left at the traffic light..

Not to add fuel to the fire but my poor Dad had taken delivery of a new 911 Turbo a few years back and less than a week after taking delivery, he stopped in a petrol station to fill the car up. He parked in the 2nd slot behind a lady in her RAV4. She finished filling up her car, went into the station to pay, came out and jumped into her car, only to decide she wanted to reverse out the station... right into the 911 parked behind her. After realising she had just caused in excess of £5,000 worth of damage, she stop trying to reverse, got out of the car and her first words were: - "You shouldn't be driving such a low car. This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't been." ....yes you ignorant twit, it was his fault Paul, glad you had witnesses. I imagine the car will get sent back to MMC but whatever the case, I'm sure you'll get her back good as new - BHM seem like a great bunch.

"You shouldn't be driving such a low car. This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't been." I've thought through all possible defences, and have come up with five separate and independent things to prove I was stationary at the time. Additionally, if he claims that the car was too low, I’ll just point out that it is the same height as a small child, or a pushchair, and ask if it is acceptable to back into those instead? I would be very surprised however if there is a dispute on this one. Rather annoying, however.
