Of course, there is a simpler, more basic way ( and we who live in the colonies tend to adopt these things): Drive it, drive it again, prssume on your local dealer's goodwill so that you can cawl under it, over it and inside it and then don't believe what anyone says and draw your own own conclusions A bit simplistic, I accept but it works
As a well stated non fan- of the MTW that's what I did and I STILL don't belive it is a well- sorted prperly R&D's pice of Kit and my revcent discussion with Matt Humphries does little to convince me I realy do wish MMC well with this but I have huge misgivings G
The gearbox in last video is indeed extremely noisy.
Does this irritating noise go away and how many km does it take because this irritating noise is the only thing you hear and I prefer to hear the noise of a nice V-twin instead.
I suspect that as in Jays' video it's the positioning of the camera over the bevel drive that makes it seem so noisy. On my test drive I was battered by a wonderful wall of engine and exhaust noise - I really only noticed the transmission whine every now and again.
Yes, it looks as though the camera was mounted in the same spot as mine and it will pick up more on the gear noise than anything else. that said, the noise on the car I tried was excessive in my view...I'm hoping to try it again in a month or so to see if it has worn in.....or worn out!
That said, I just keep coming back to the driving experience...it really was something else
I may one day, when i've enlarged the garage, get a MTW but only when its got through its first customer year and the bugs hopefully ironed out.
Jays Former Morgan owner. Gone but hopefully not forgotten!
Here's a short video of my test drive (be faster than you for this time MI3 wheeler ) you can see that you heard the sound of the VTwin more than the gearbox. But it's thrue that the gearbox is quite noisy...(my brother have a Caterham sperlight 120 and i think the sound of the gear box is also very present in the car)
