I prefer ye olde stainless ones. They allow aero screens!

Yes....far easier to take the screen off with the stainless uprights...or fit a folding mechanism if you are lucky enough to have the earlier screens fitted.
One of the reasons I went to the factory today....apart from picking up a Panhard Rod and Brake Reaction Bars...I want to fit Aeroscreens but wanted to check exactly where the three crush zone holes are on the scuttle (on the later cars). i don't want to drill into them!
The new uprights will cause problems with the makers of aftermarket easy up type hoods like Allon Whites and Simmonds as they fit replacement stainless steel uprights and will have to either fit the old style pillar plinths or make new alloy uprights with their fasteners on them.

Thats really tough luck Thierry. I do hope that your dealer and the factory replace it under warranty without any hassle. Clearly there is a problem with screens over the past year or two and the factory should not try to shy away from the issue.
Its interesting that the latest cars with the 9 stud screen have a different screen upright....I'm convinced that it is to beef up the strength of the screen!

Very sad and frustrating (and a bit spooky, check the mileage your neighbour might have had the time of his life...). Brand new 4/4 Sport with 9 stud hood?

I heard of two more broken windscreens on Friday....one of which happened whilst the car was left in the garage. I have also heard a rumour that Simmonds are looking to have windscreens made for them....so that might be a handy source at some stage to just be able to replace the glass.

I have a new 4/4 sport purchased on Mar 29, 2012. The screen developed a crack running from top left to bottom while the car was garaged. The car has covered 640 miles and I have never fitted the hood so the screen has never been stressed by attaching it in the wrong sequence.
My dealer wants to take a photograph for Morgan to determine whether the cost will be covered under the warranty!!

I wonder if the frames are being distorted when they are fitted to the scuttle? It seems to be a serious problem, which has started quite recently.

Bad luck! Out of interest, do you have the later cast alloy uprights fitted to your screen or the earlier stainless steel ones?
It should be covered under warranty...the factory has replaced some but yours is so new. If they refuse I personally would get Trading Standards involved!
