I purchased my K & N filter from Heart of England Morgans.
As explained and shown in my previous photo, I used a 90 deg 19mm elbow with 152mm legs from Artel Motorsport, with s/s hose clips connected to a modified copper heating tee.
I have not had any problems with the cold or cold starting, but I do not tend to use the car in the depths of winter.

I have found a vent filter in the K&N range 62-1360 for the engine breather. Will let you know how I get on.

I'm all ears listening

Is there any benefit in venting the oil breather through the main filter where presumably it gets sucked through the carb versus using a natty little filter like that.

Just been loking on the halfords website for something else and it seems they have a very similar looking filter for oil breather pipes. It seems there isnt a significant issue dealing with the oil breather like this, instead of running into the intake. In fact there may even be a benefit?

Ah, I have pretty much no sense of smell, so it wouldn't bother me - might upset passengers though.....

I have a K&N filter and have never had any problem with starting or running in cold weather.

You can vent the rocker cover into small Mocal catch tank. Or alternative receptacle... See sigg bottles etc also used.

I don't recall the detail but from sometime in the mid to late sixties, there was a regulation about not having the crankcase venting to the atmosphere. So all the classic sports cars I've had, have had close circuit venting, apart from (strangely), the Rover V8 in the MGB which has a rear breather from the crankcase, through a filter (a fuel filter actually), with an inverted U bend on the top. This was a standard fitting by the factory.
So fathom that out if you can.

Have fitted the K&N filters to both the carb and engine breather. On mine the larger main jet doesnt appear to be needed as there is no hesitation in in accleration or whilst on constant throttle settings however I will keep an eye out in case it develops. No nasty smells from the crakcase breather but the engine doesnt breath heavily anyway. A small but noticeable increase in performance which is a nice bonus. Over 150 miles so far with new setup. New shiny rocker cover fitted so underbonnet smarten up begun.(thank you ebay). EBC green stuff disc pad have made a marked improvement on pedal feel and braking. Thanks for all the advice, to someone new to Morgans, great chat room.
