John, What is the problem with changing the plugs? I don't have to take my bonnet off but I did grind down the lugs on the spanner.

Renaults, when they became popular stuff i recall early seventies, first 5s with that engine the wrong way on the G/Box, what a night mare and every model needed 24.5 hours to change a starter motor, Drive shaft Gaters had to be replaced by the dealer, with a 3ft steel cone greased very well idiotic, yet the car i would love is a DS21-23 how Mad am i crazy2

Tappet setting on the Triumph slant 4 - inverted buckets and shims......and the water pump which is shaft driven, and set up with feeler gauges.......
Exhaust downpipe on Mini Cooper with twin carbs........
Removing starter on MGBV8.... first remove rack, remove exhaust manifold................

Yesterday at the test station, a Focus came in - 06 plate and leaking power steering. Common fault apparently and needs major dismantling to get at the leaking pipe. mega money to put right.

That poxy battery hidden on the shelf next to the axel behind the nearside seat with the terminals turned inwards that a short arse like me can,t reach and falls head first down with my legs sticking up after the spanner touched both terminals .

Not mad at all, I'd love a Citroen DS. If you want a piece of crap Renault design, just have a look at the rear drive shaft arrangement on a R 4CV. There is no fore/aft location whatsoever - which accounts for the vicious handling at anything over about 30 mph. Utterly bonkers. The only good aspect is that with 24 bhp, you don't get to go more than 30 very often smile

Maybe that accounts for the DS21-23 desires??? rofl

Dislikes - modern automotive electronics, where any control you wish to adjust goes via one or more ECUs...
I won't start on Land Rovers - yet! smile

My old man many years ago was going up Northumberland Street in Newcastle ( before it became a no go area ) his silencer dropped off so he jumped out ran back for it picked it up to put in his boot . Forgot it was red hot and his hand stuck to it , Screams of pain as he threw it up the street .
Also he dropped his keys down the drain while opening his door spent hours with a cup trying to empty it and a bit of wire , my mother shut up she dare not say anything ( i.e. have you not got them yet you have been on ages ) the old mans face was thunder.
He taught me a good lesson keep away from drains .

Dean,
you remind me of Peter Sellers and his Rolls , he phoned one of the goons at 2am or 3am got him out of bed I am coming over . When he arrived he put him in the boot drove up and down the road to find a squeak in the rear of it . The police spotted them and asked what are you doing . Then told them only you lot would do somthing like that . They must not have known any Morgan owners .

Reminds me of when I was a student; one of the medics I shared a house with was not thrilled to catch me using his stethoscope to listen to a noise in the motor of my RD350LC. Never stopped him from asking me to help him fix his mini whenever he had a problem mind you...
