Just bought a 93 plus 4 with a mildly tuned ( ported and polished head and heat wrapped free flow headers ) and am wondering how I am supposed to ensure an efficient supply of cold filtered air to the induction manifold. At present a bit of wire reinforced fabric flex pipe which looks like it may have dropped of a land rover has to make an almost 90 degree bend ; fouls the heater box , drapes languidly over the distributor and terminates in an ITG filter which slops around in the area where Morgan presumably fitted the original filter. Cold air is supplied from beneath the radiator by a nasty looking orange flexi pipe pointing vaguely in the direction of the filter. The latter is presumably fixable by a proper cool air box for the filter and better pipework but what I cant get my head around is how to contrive an efficient connection to the induction manifold. The unfortunate relationship between the manifold , distributor and the heater box seems unacceptably casual even by Morgan standards. Is this really how Morgan originally installed this engine or have I got some strange combination of bits that they just happened to have lying around at the time ? Can somebody with the same engine option please tell me how the original installation was supposed to work or has addressed the same issue . Or am I simply being to picky and this is simply one of the (many) little Morgan eccentricities we learn to live with .
Raf, if you live in Bucks you are welcome to look at my +4 T16 engined car.
Mine has the orginal arrangement. There is an iduction hose running up the inside of the wing that stops just before the front bonnet catch. It feeds into the orginal airbox that is on a metal support above the washer bottle. The hose then heads into the throttle body. I have fitted a K&N filter in the airbox.
I have considered extending the hose to over the top of the radiator but never got there.

If you go to Mogsport, there is a photo there under T16 engines which might help. On my M16 the itg filter connects to the airflow meter, in the daed air space in front of the tool box.
Thanks for that. Mogsport photo shows a T16 turbo with the intake manifold fuelling from the front . Which is where it should be since their is plenty of dead space for the filter. Looks like a standard manifold presumably off a Rover turbo. Assume the parts should just swap over but if anyone knows otherwise please correct me .
