Can anyone offer any help on taking a Morgan over to Sweden or other EU country?
I am getting confusing information looking at the relevant websites.
I don't know if I can keep the same Speedometer, or keep it on UK plates and bring it back once a year for MOT etc.
Any guidance is much appreciated.
Mark

If a resident of Ireland you have to import the car, this is so the revenue can extract the vehicle registration tax which is more than a pound of flesh!!!! If you don't they can confiscate the car!!! Cars over 4 years old also have to go through our NCT - similar to a MOT.

Can anyone offer any help on taking a Morgan over to Sweden or other EU country? Enjoy: http://www.transportstyrelsen.se/en/road...tart-to-finish/The speedometer should also show km/h (most speedometers show both mph and km/h but the km/h should visibly be the dominating scale - just put some tape on the glass covering the mph and you have solved the problem). Sweden is a great country for Morgan driving

Mark The company I work for attracts lots of competence from abroad and some of them bring their cars and go through the process of putting them on Swedish plates - seems to be pretty easy as long as you have your papers in order. When arriving you can drive it on its UK reg (as a tourist) and then arrange the rest from here. Where in Sweden and when in time are you moving to the land of blondes and mooses?

I imported a brand new +4 Supers Sport from Richard Thorne las autumn, no problems with registration and I have the speedo where miles is dominated with no problems. As mention before you do need to have your papers in order.
Good luck!

Many thanks for the replys, I think I will drive over on UK plates as a tourist, put it in a garage off road and then apply for the change in registration.
We will be bringing the Morgan over the 3rd week in July after a couple of days in Copenhagen. We will then drive up from Copenhagen to the Stockholm area, we are just finalising houses on the outskirts of Stockholm.
We look forward to meeting fellow Morgan drivers in Sweden.

Nice, Stockholm is a great place, a beautiful and safe city with friendly people and lots of opportunities (even if traffic queues are getting worse in rush hours for every year). Welcome!!
