On 3 L Roadster 1st relay is starter relay. Another thought, does 3.7 have clutch pedal safety cut-out? ie depress clutch pedal when starting, if so could be loose switch or wire.

It might be worth a try with the other key / immobiliser fob.
The pickup wire is also behind the plastic cover at the ignition switch, check and make sure it hasn't moved out of range of the fob.

I'm not sure it'll be the same on this one. The electrics are very different ( but at least you can get at the relays & fuses!)

There is a clutch pedal switch but I can't see where it is. Any ideas?



The key was the first thing I tried. I also thought about the pickup, but don't know what to look for. If it was the pickup, would the instruments fire up?

The only two possibles on Easter's link are the clutch switch & the relay. I was playing just now. Again the engine wouldn't start. I was holding the key in the start position while I looked at the instruments to see if there were any clues whin it suddenly started
Is there a delay (perhaps fuel pumping?) before it cranks?

I'm in no position to comment as a non owner..... But does the Roadster have a starter button? Does the clutch need to be depressed before the car will start? I'm thinking of a poor connection/dry solder on one of these.

No starter button. The clutch does need to be depressed, but I don't know where the switch is.

The fuel usually pressurises 'instantly'. I would expect to find the clutch switch on the floor like the brake lamp switch? Unless it's pressure sensing switch in the clutch line. That electrics box looks very like the Aero 8!!!! Give all those relays a good press.

Running out of options
It's not the relay (I rotated them all). It's not the clutch switch (it's a pressure switch in the hydraulic line & it works every time ).
I guess it must be something to do with the immobiliser. Oh well, over to the dealer tomorrow...

Hmm! given everything else seems to be ok I would guess there is a bad connection between the key chip sensor and the ECU.
