For a time, there was no upper grease nipple, just the lower one. At that time the kingpins were not drilled to take an upper nipple.
With regards to the grease, it's about personal preference. I'm using Castrol LM at the moment.

This might help

http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/Greasing2002to2006.html

If there is no nipple I would have thought there should be the remote oiler tube.
If your car has the button on the firewall just behind the heater thwn someone has removed the remote oiler & maybe the nipples have fallen off

Hello Les
I made the same experience with my 2004 Roadster and was very confused.
Having +4 for 28 years it was always very important to grease both up and down.

Why are Morgan still using these set ups of front suspension and lubrication systems, in my mind this should of gone years ago, 2 pieces of metal a tube=axle, stud, a shaft=Kinpin in a transition fit, requiring lubrication every 5 mins seems crazy. is this what you Trad owners really want from your car. When we used do deal with Morris 1000, Marinas with Trunions, cutomers used to go mad at the continues cost of servicing these items, unseizing them and replacing them for M.O.Ts!!!!...... surely there is something to better this. I remember a A45 A60 and a like could be ritten off because of the cost of a recon front axle so much time involved very primative in modern day to me.

Keeping it traditional is a big factor, but when you bolt a tubular bedhead onto the front of a ladder chassis, it remains a good compromise. I still don't think a modern system on such a flexible chassis and with limited wheel travel would be much of an improvement. Fitting steering bearings is a major leap forward though, and there's no doubt that the rebound springs should have gaiters as standard. But the trad as we know it will cease to be when it can no longer get through the legal hoops. Until then we should celebrate & enjoy how it continues to cock a snoot at nanny state authority. uk
I wouldn't have mine any other way.

MMC have a USP, the cost of developing and producing a new set- up might never be re-couped. It actually works very well, delivers a unique driving experience and regular greasing isn't that arduous - well within the capabilities of any competent home mechanic or DIYer.
