As an aside..... I read here that MK will not make a walnut dash for the new Roadster. Is this true? I have mailed Matthias and await his reply.

I'm not sure I'm in love with the standard factory arrangment.... Hmmm!

That is apparently the case. Great shame - its the dash that puts me of the Roadster (as well as the huge price increase and reduced leg clearance). I wish Morgan had left the Roadster alone and not changed it - there was nothing wrong with the old incarnation.

Lack of engines, I believe.

Perhaps it was time to change to an EcoBoost 4 cylinder for the Roadster instead of being blocked on a 3.7 V6 which is perhaps pushing the limits on the trad.

One more easy question; (having just taken Hard Top Off & put on Easy Up Hood.
2011 4/4 bespoke.
Should the hood fixings near your shoulder have 1 or 2 screws inserted?
I was given just 2 Allen Key screws i.e. 1 each side for the hood. They are different to the 2 that fix the hard top in that the hard top ones are counter sunk screws.
I could get 2 screws in each side BUT that made it very tight to "pop" the back of the hood down & didn't dare apply too much pressure with the known screen problems.
Appart from that seems to fit OK bar the passenger side screen is very proud at the rear and some interesting "vents" near the top left & right of the wind screen. Almost as if the hood should pull down a bit further onto the screen.
Any advice please & thanks in advance
Bob:)

The stockpile of V6's got used up-
The 3.0L in my Roadster (registered in 2011 ) has a Ford sticker on the cam cover dated 2007

I think the trad can handle 3.7 without too much strain, now I've got used to 3.0L a few extra ponies wouldn't go amiss wink -I suspect your right though, an EcoBoost 4 would be more than adequate in a trad, but I do enjoy that silky V6

Mine has 3 screws holding the hood bracket to the frame as per pic.
The other pic shows a seal I added to the top of the screen supports. The hood rail pulls down onto these. Without them you get a nice big puddle on the floor when it rains...

When it's running, I'm more than happy with the 3.7 wine
Of course, I haven't pushed it yet, with only 400 or so miles on the clock...

What's your run-in routine Ian?

Is there much less leg room in the 3.7 Roadster compared to the 3.0 or +4.

I have heard from MK and he WILL make a dash.... However he has yet to see the new Roadster so there is some developmental work to do. smile
