I am about to become single again

Many many years ago I owned a 4/4 but it was sold in order to help the mortgage.

Technology has moved on.

In my new found state I will be able to run one car.

What is the view of the assembled company of using a MOG has a sole car?

I've yet to own a Morgan, but there's one on its way....

But my view is that it would be awkward to have as your sole daily driver. Having owned a few 2 seaters (as fun cars), I'm anxious about leaving them parked anywhere they could be vandalised, as well as the nuisance of no luggage space.

However, I can't think of a better vehicle for the single man! You'd cut a dash.

Treat yourself with a Morgan, soon you might be in chains again

my 4/4 is 3 months old now and for a little while i concidered having it as my dailt drive. for me, i can get what i need in it, there is reasonable room behind the seats. the drive is civalized. i have always left the car (weather permitting) parked with the roof down, far from anyone trying to steal it. it allways has people smiling and keen to chat to you when you return. so mostly thumbs up. the reason i have chosen to use as a alternative to the other cars i might use daily is, how difficult it is to jump in and out of with the roof up. So if you can live with that why not. Sorry for the long winded reply.

Welcome from a fellow Devon dweller! I have had my Morgan now for 3 years (a 2005 Roadster) and I can't recommend this model highly enough. Quiet and gentle when you want it to be, and reasonably beastly when you don't. Would recommend alloys for the steering lightness at parking speeds as well as the slightly narrower body for the Devon Lanes.
As for it being the only car.. that depends how much long-distance driving you do in my opinion. I find it tiresome on the Motorway so would rather use my wife's Mini to go to London. But when I drove through Spain and back through France last year (not on Motorways) it was a delight in the sunshine: no rain is rather key to the Morgan Experience (although you could buy some waterproof trousers..).
Get your Morgan and a cheap s/h car for the long runs later maybe?

There are a good number who use them as sole cars. If you need extra carrying capacity, find a 4 seater.
If were to move on, I'd be driving mine most of the time (couldn't get rid of my Land Rover though ).

I'm (not yet) a Mog owner but I do run a Lotus ( as a toy) and often see the same question asked about that car.

In my view the answer depends on your age and outlook on life. At my age ( 66) I would not dream of putting up with the inconvenience and lack of comfort in a sports car 24/7. But when I was 18, I did just that in a Spitfire.

You need to be realistic. Offering yourself a pressy at the end of what is bound to be an unpleasant period in your life is natural. Cheers you up to be planning for the future. But that doesnt make it practical

Hello all,
If I drove my MOG everyday I do not think I would have a special feeling. Everytime I buy a new everydaycar I love to drive it but after a few months I am not aware of what car I am driving. For me, driving my Morgan, will be for joy and I think I miss that if I use it as a ordinary car.
