Recently became the proud owner of an aero 8 S1. Anyone any tips on the electric power steering pump. It has stopped switching of when I turn off the ignition. Checked today and it stayed on for over an hour before it switched off. seems to wind down as if its going to shut down but then it starts up again.

Anyone know what type of power steering pump was used for the upgrade ?

I was told that it is an electric pump from the BMW Mini but have not verified ths.

Hi, I'll take a look when I have got the wing off. On short runs it turns off straight away. On long runs it seems to wait along time but it does turn off. I wonder if the pump has some kind of heat sensor that is playing up? I know it gets an engine run signal but not sure about the heat thing.

Jez, Not sure if I have the electric or original version on my S1. How would I know. Only recently got my S1.

The electrical one is placed under the left wing behind the wheel arch. You may need to remove the wing to see it.
