Now that Morgan has been producing three wheelers for a while, have there been any factory updates/modifications integrated/planned into the more recently produced cars. From reading the posts on TM, it looks as though there are some concerns. Also, how many have thus far left the factory?

Loud bevelbox is replaced by a silent one

Further more: engine needs perfect break in procedure
Black finish on exhaust shields is no longer available
After delivery: check the wheel alignment

What other concern other than those by the vehicle's nature
Mine has a 1000miles and feels better and better

From next month I have to commute to my office: 3whlr will do most of it

The engine break in procedure astonishes me that a modern car would need soo much break in. Its a shame that they cant break the engine in before putting it into the car so that the end user isnt left with such a ridiculous list of things to follow.

As an 'old school' type driver, I'd much rather break in a new engine. However the latest finishing procedures to bores etc. are probably much better at doing so

Don't forget, its a motorcycle engine, not a car engine. Most, if not all, new motorcycle engines need running in.

I have also read about undesirable steering kickback as well as inaccurate fuel gages but none of these issues have really caused such problems that I have worried about them much.

On one of the more recent videos they say over 150 have been delivered but I am sure that number is further up there by now.

good point Jay, an oversight on my part. Still amazing that any engine would need this anymore, but I am in no way an engineer.

The fewer the cylinders the more care running in was always the way in past years. Probably still the same.

Interesting to see that the Owners Handbook says very little on the break in.
Rev. limit by ECU and oil and filter change at first service seems to be the only issues.
Interesting that "Items Needing Special Attention" is Extensive idling and/or low-speed driving for long distances. (= oil and filter change every 3000 miles)

In other words - don´t worry - race on!!!!!!!!!!

I have just passed 4 800 km (3000) miles and have no intention to change oil until after summer.
6 liters of oil and still looks as new! Could well be reused in my old truck.

Mine has just had the rev limit removed at about 850 miles, still not blitzing the revs too much but the extra revs certainly open up a new level of performance...


Scheduled to return to the factory for its first service shortly.
