There have been some less than entertaining articles posted this week about Morgan's use of AutoDesk to speed the R&D time up on the 3 wheeler and other projects. While skimming through the 5th article I came across the images below which appear to show a little drop-down storage-compartment under the dash. Did this make it into production?

Hi guys. Regarding the original question of production updates/mods, I'm very curious whether the finishing has improved compared to the shockingly-flawed pre-production car displayed at the L.A. auto show (recall that the poor quality was the catalyst for my decision to cancel my order). You may remember the pics I posted of extensive premature rusting and shoddy-fitment and assembly on that specific car, which needed to be towed from the show, so I'm very appreciative to the OP for this worthwhile thread. I might eventually jump back in the order line at some point when the level of confidence over niggles has been sorted out by those braver than I. Glad that the drive belt issue seems resolved, and no tranny abuse issues being reported. Seems no one has yet been left stranded. What is the factory's policy on retrofitting vital updates to existing cars after similar updates have been made to to new production cars?

Steven,

I can only speak from seeing AsboJohn's, the Gulf M3W and the factory SuperDry production ThreeWheeler recently but none looked shabby or poorly constructed (as per your comments). That said, I imagine the M3W needs to be treated somewhat like a motorcycle and as far as I know, most bikers who like to keep their bikes pristine, always dry them after a ride in the wet (hence the saying when a bike is shabby, 'ridden hard and put away wet', to describe one that us uncared for).

The best person to answer your question would be AsboJohn because he has at least 2,500 miles under his ThreeWheeler belt, so is well positioned to give you a real world perspective.

Thanks, Simon. I'll watch for his reply, and from others. Still have not gotten a call that a production demo is available to see here yet. Sooner or later, it will all get sorted out (as may already be the case), I am confident. And patient!

I get the feeling that current production cars are far better finished than the original pre-production cars, as they should be of course. My car has only been on the road for a month and not much of that in the rain, but looking at Stig and Nicks cars last week which have had much more use, they are both looking much better, rust wise.

What I'm really waiting for is the Mk11 car, lighter, faster, even more nimble, and even more fun. I will probably sell my current car and get one of those when they are available, I hope you still feel you want one Steve.

Let's see... that would be right after the Mk02, Mk03... through Mk10, correct?

Although I don't have one myself, I have driven it and must say that the car is noisy due to not having a roof, but was otherwise fine. I also visited the productionline at the factory and they seemed to be doing a decent job on putting the cars together.

If I lived in SoCal, I would have already ordered one...
Try to get your hands on one and just drive, i'm 100% sure you'll love it smile

I'll drive.
