With the prevalence of SUVs and trucks on the roads these days I decided to add a brake light up higher where it can be more readily observed. I settled on a motorcycle stop/tail light. The stop light flashes five times and then remains steady when the brakes are applied. I wired the tail light portion to work with the brake to make it brighter. the unit is self adhesive and mounted on a home made stainless steel sheetmetal "T" bracket attached to the rear panel behind the spare. Power is supplied by the left hand brake light. It has made a dramatic difference in tailgating behavior.

I fitted air horns the thought of being behind a huge wagon or along side a left hooker he has not a chance of spotting me so I blast him and flash my lights . When I was on the road and it wont be till spring next year before its on the road again so all you lads enjoying yourself spare a thought .

I have air horns as well. Might could change the spare, I suppose.

Looks just the thing to fit as a supplementary brake light to fit on top of the luggage.

Thanks - great tip. My Father worries about the (dealer-fitted) rack with a spare wheel on top obscuring the third brake light on our flatback 4/4 Sport.

Since neither of us likes the 'periscope' third brake light fitted as standard to spare-wheel trads (which in any case would not be tall enough for our application) this gives us a super alternative. I'm not sure we have your fabrication skills though, so off to the blacksmith to get the bracket made...

Wow what a website! M3W guys could have a field day on there Aeroman, I noticed a nice cool "ruby red" set of road LED's - imagine those front and rear on your rocket red machine flooding the Tarmac with colour

On a more serious note, I think I would get some daytime running lights (bright LED's) if I had an M3W, as it would just bring a drivers gaze down on such a low machine, and in this case, for me, function before form.

Back on topic, great solution for the +4 and looks good.
