Well done Mrs W !
In our case, my wife no longer drives (anything) so we're a bit screwed if anything happens to me

That is such a familiar story. We eventually had to force my father to stop driving because he was getting dangerous. My mother hadn't driven for 10 years and had completely lost confidence, so they became reliant on others. Two men of my acquaintance have wives who passed their tests decades ago and haven't driven since! One of those has now had to relinquish his licence due to health reasons, and they are somewhat isolated in the village where they live.
My wife and I rarely go out without each other, and I normally do all the driving. We bought a new tintop earlier this year and she's had two goes behind the wheel so far but isn't confident yet without me beside her. I must suggest she gets more practice, you never know when you might be incapacitated.
Get well soon Dave.
