Just looking at a list of things to order from the factory with a new Plus Four. Would welcome opinions about factory vs aftermarket alternative, for:
- luggage rack with side screen stowage (LiBrands is cheaper and as good as factory design? It looks a little leaner too which is a good thing)
- battery conditioner - any advantage in getting the factory-fit one or are there better options?
- outdoor/storm cover - I've seen recommendations here for Richbrook - how does it compare with the factory one?
- luggage rack straps - look good but should I get one of the more modern hard-to-cut options discussed on these forums instead?
Thanks

Just looking at a list of things to order from the factory with a new Plus Four. Would welcome opinions about...... battery conditioner Yes I have a Ctek conditioner on my Roadster, BUT why is it after all these years, owners still need a conditioner ? I have owned dozens and dozens of cars, but the Morgan is the ONLY one I needed to use a conditioner....... Well I have had Morgan's for 20 years and never owned a so called smart charger, I always had or retro fitted a battery Isolator switch and that is what you really need my Morgan's never met a charger and I only ever renewed one battery. It doubles as a safety and anti theft device too.. Disconnecting the power will cause a "reboot" of the car. It can be tricky to get it all working again & the horn not permanently on. I made that mistake fitting a CTEK comfort connector. Probably not a good idea to fit a switch to a cx. Librands make fine racks. I have a factory one on order for my cx for the last 7 weeks as I bought the car from a dealer but so far no rack. I too use surfboard lockable straps on my rack.

1. luggage rack I have from Morgan with and without side screen storage Both are very good. But I have no comparison with other products
2. battery conditioner I also use CTec. Works very well and I also use it for my motorcycles
3. outdoor/storm cover I don't have one. The vehicle is parked in the garage. I would definitely recommend looking for a garage.
4. luggage rack straps I bought them at Morgan Park Hamburg. As far as I know they are original from Morgan. They work well... I have no comparison to aftermarket products here either

1. luggage rack, without side screen storage, from Morgan, just fine.
2. battery conditioner, CTEK MXS 5.0, dealer fitted with a magnetic connection, works very well
3. outdoor stormcover, I have one from John Taylor, custom made for my 4/4-4 seater and a Morgan stormcover for my PlusFour, purchased at MorganPark Hamburg. John Taylors excellent quality, MCC just as good, and so much easier to install than the 4/4-4 one. My Morgan is garage parked, but we use the stormcover very often as a replacement of the tonneau cover which we don't have on the PlusFour. So, if we park the car and do't want to put the hood up, e.g. if we want to sit on a terrace, we use it quite often and it is so simple to use. One minute work! Also on holidays when you do have to park the Morgan outside, we also have the stormcover over the hood. It is protective, also for bird poo. I should recommend it, the factory one is fine.
4. luggage rack straps: I once bought leather straps, but not from Morgan so, a lot cheaper, and the work for many years now, on the 4/4 and now the PlusFour.

Very helpful thank you. CTEK MXS 5.0, dealer fitted with a magnetic connection. Do you have a picture or source for the magnetic connection? I saw a post somewhere that had this in the passenger footwell which seemed like a great idea, better than having to lift the bonnet when parking. Is that what your dealer did? Or maybe hidden down the rear somewhere? Was it something like this one perhaps? That post was from me: https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/797776/re-battery-conditioner#Post797776It is quite simple, you get a magnetic adapter connected to the CTEK, and in the footwell on the passenger side the counterpart is mounted, which has a direct lead to the battery. My Morgan dealer (Louwman) in the Netherlands did this for me, and this is the way they offer it since, A friend of me has had it installed too! Supersimple and effective!

I have a John Taylor outdoor cover and take it when away for overnight parking. Bought when I had trads and works on the Plus Four. A good cover that does the bonnet and cockpit and just goes over the top of the spare wheel. I also have an old-ish Librands short cockpit cover. It's lost it's waterproof layer but still handy to pop over instead of putting the hood up. I intend re-proofing it . My Librands luggage rack with sidescreen storage for a car with spare wheel was fitted when buying the car new a year ago. I've just bought leather luggage straps from a Miscellany ad. Using them in a couple of weeks. Until now I've use ratchet straps, mini versions not the big ones. Also a large waterproof bag to put over a case on the rack. Bought from ebay. Used earlier this year and gives good waterproofing. I have the Cobra's head high brake light and have made an LED plug in extra one for when the suitcase is on as it obscures the brake light. Quick and easy swop using Superseal connector plugs.
