Talk Morgan Forums Thread Like Summary - Nearly A Serious Embarrassment!

I just had my 5 year old Mini serviced at the regular local garage.
MoT = no issues.
Service OK, until I noticed an on screen message that the battery needs replacing.
I was about to phone them to ask why they hadn’t reported the problem.
Then I realised that the battery in the on screen message, was. . . .
The battery in the key fob!

Thanks Grumpy Pa and Luddite you have cured three months of intense frustration re the batteries in my key fob, they are sold here in a tight blister pack which requires strong scissors to open -but I never considered the coating -gave both batteries a bit of a coarse sanding and hey presto for the first time in six months it works as it should -and hopefully I wont get the silly messages as i am driving down the motorway that the key has been removed from the car! (Volvo XC60)
