Not too impressed that there are already signs of wear on the passenger-side carpet after <2000 miles on my Plus Four. Driver side is fine because it has a built-in rubber mat where the heels go (It’s the basic carper not the more expensive box weave option.)

Is this abnormal?
Should we just let it wear and eventually replace the carpet, or get a floor mat (in which case, from where?)

Thanks

We went for a cheap solution - photo is #3 on my post here https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/785308/my-top-twenty-cx-tweaks#Post785308

Halfords sell a cheap rubber mat - about 30x40cm - we trimmed that to size and glued some wide velcro on the back of it. Has worked very well and can be replaced very cheaply and easily in the future. Used contact adhesive to stick the “hook” side of Velcro strips onto the mat, which has lasted more than 2 years.

I'd put a floor mat down in any car to protect the carpet, and in a Morgan where it's the passenger's heels that are mainly impacting I'd think it's doubly important.

I'm not a particular fan of carpet in open cars so I bought a length of fine-flute rubber mat from https://www.carbuilder.com/products/fine-flute-rubber-matting-per-metre, dead easy to cut it to size with a Stanley knife.

If you want to stick with carpet you can get everything you need from Woolies, they do carpet in a range of colours. Again, very easy to cut to size but you'd have to find someone to bind the edges if you didn't fancy doing it yourself.
