Not too impressed that there are already signs of wear on the passenger-side carpet after <2000 miles on my Plus Four. Driver side is fine because it has a built-in rubber mat where the heels go (It’s the basic carper not the more expensive box weave option.)
Is this abnormal? Should we just let it wear and eventually replace the carpet, or get a floor mat (in which case, from where?)
Thanks

I'd put a floor mat down in any car to protect the carpet, and in a Morgan where it's the passenger's heels that are mainly impacting I'd think it's doubly important. I'm not a particular fan of carpet in open cars so I bought a length of fine-flute rubber mat from https://www.carbuilder.com/products/fine-flute-rubber-matting-per-metre, dead easy to cut it to size with a Stanley knife. If you want to stick with carpet you can get everything you need from Woolies, they do carpet in a range of colours. Again, very easy to cut to size but you'd have to find someone to bind the edges if you didn't fancy doing it yourself. https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-76-carpet

After four years i have a hole in the driver side carpet . On my2020 plus four the rubber mat isnt large enough . My heel is on the tissue. It is very expensive to replace because the carpet is going under the seat. If i remember well it is over 1000 euros for a pair of carpets.

I have extra rubber backed sacrificial mats each side with drivers having heel patch. They have held up well for over six years and 33,000 miles. These are trimmed to match OE which are still like new.

I use rear seat rubber mats which I got from Halfords. Fronts are too big.
I'm too OCD to get the carpets messed up.

I made up some of my own, then just took them to have the edges and the bigger heel mat sewn in ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/03/10/Footwell-mat.md.jpg)
