I know there are a few Land Rover owners/fans on here................
I've always fancied one, I had all sort of ideas about a series 1, but common sense and fate led me to a 2000 TD5 Defender 90...... Maybe this is the first of many....... The bloke I bought it from has 4 Land Rovers, he's traveled everywhere from the Sahara to the Arctic circle in his apocalypse spec 110.........!!
He rebuilt my 'new' LR on to a new galvanised chassis and replaced, fettled or updated pretty much everything else.
It's ridiculous fun.......😆
It's loud and obnoxious being a TD5 with a straight through exhaust and with the sides rolled up it causes a hell of a stir..... almost as much as a Morgan.......😂
Craig might be along in a minute to upload a picture for me......🤷🏻♂️....I still can't do it........

Fun is the word. I've had a cheesy grin on my face since I got it. It actually makes driving FUN........🤷🏻♂️ It's oddly a very similar driving experience to a Morgan. I'll never complain about Morgan hoods again....... The quality of the Exmoor trim hood is incredible......however....... it takes an age to put up.... I haven't dared take the whole thing off, I don't have a day to spare....I'm getting quicker at rolling up the sides now though.....😆

Well if we're showing Landies: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2017/08/13/L1090634.jpg) It's not as clean as this at present, medical issues prevent me from standing for any period, so it may be a while before it looks this clean again.

Well apart from a series 1 I have had them all pass through my life at some point and the Td5 is my absolute favourite; and the engine was purpose designed for a Land Rover. only really had two faults and that was plastic location dowels for the cylinder head on the early ones and oil tracking up the injector harness which cost a fortune on early cars but peanuts later on. They were supposed to be improved to prevent oil ingress but I never found them any better, anywhere between 20,000 and 40,000 miles was the life so not something to prevent ownership but they would cover starship mileages and I love em!

On my second Td5, this one a late build 110 Hard Top with 43K miles, I'm the second owner, previously I had a 90 HT from new and took it twice round the clock, sold it for what it actually cost me to fund* it and still see it running locally.
* some stellar man maths here, a £6k punt on a financial product made a significant return, enough to buy a basic 90 😀
