I know there are a few Land Rover owners/fans on here................
I've always fancied one, I had all sort of ideas about a series 1, but common sense and fate led me to a 2000 TD5 Defender 90...... Maybe this is the first of many....... The bloke I bought it from has 4 Land Rovers, he's traveled everywhere from the Sahara to the Arctic circle in his apocalypse spec 110.........!!
He rebuilt my 'new' LR on to a new galvanised chassis and replaced, fettled or updated pretty much everything else.
It's ridiculous fun.......π
It's loud and obnoxious being a TD5 with a straight through exhaust and with the sides rolled up it causes a hell of a stir..... almost as much as a Morgan.......π
Craig might be along in a minute to upload a picture for me......π€·π»ββοΈ....I still can't do it........

That's a cracker, well done. The Td5 is a fantastic engine, I love mine to bits, TBH I enjoy driving it very nearly as much as the Morgan.

I wish I never sold my TD5. It was one of the last made with that engine which as you say is a peach! Yours looks good.

Fun is the word. I've had a cheesy grin on my face since I got it. It actually makes driving FUN........π€·π»ββοΈ It's oddly a very similar driving experience to a Morgan. I'll never complain about Morgan hoods again....... The quality of the Exmoor trim hood is incredible......however....... it takes an age to put up.... I haven't dared take the whole thing off, I don't have a day to spare....I'm getting quicker at rolling up the sides now though.....π

Well done Julian, it looks a fantastic machine. I've had two 110 Defenders including a 1999 Td5 CSW 10 seater, it was a great go anywhere, people mover. I hope you're going to get it good and dirty!

Learned to drive at 15 in an ex-military Series 2 in the mid '60s and rarely been without a Series or Defender since (very much a SWB man) ... currently have a 300tdi 90 with a galv chassis, a mild lift and a 6.5 ton winch on the front always muddy and a total workhorse ... neither me or Mrs Image use anything else for all the routine daily stuff ... as you say, a real hoot (we do have the Morgan for fun ... MG for racing .... 4.5 tonne Iveco for towing said racer ... and a few motorcycles to ring the changes a bit! π) ... and, despite the opinions of idiots on facebook it's been totally dependable ... just keeps chugging on and has never failed to get us home safe and sound whatever the weather!

I'd noticed the price and availability of spares........ you could build a total new vehicle by mail order....!! There seems to be loads of specialists and parts suppliers, any part for every era of vehicle seems to be available next day....and for no money at all....π€·π»ββοΈ
I gather that you can't really call yourself a Land Rover-ist unless you can strip one down to every component part, in a puddle, in a field, in the dark, blindfolded.......π
You get the urge to not bother with tarmac on the way home and just set off across the fields......π

Well if we're showing Landies: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2017/08/13/L1090634.jpg) It's not as clean as this at present, medical issues prevent me from standing for any period, so it may be a while before it looks this clean again.
