Post 93 rear drum auto adjusters

Well, some how my brain can not get itself to understand how these work.

Obviously I can see the knurled edge & see how that would hold. But can not see how it adjusts as the shoe is pushed out how does the adjuster move ?

Sorry for an idiotic question.
Thanks for any insight, to ease my mental block.

That's why I can't be arsed with the original string brakes on my 1933 JAP Super Sports.

I'm running 7" Morris Minor twin leading shoe front brake plates, FIAT 500 brake drums and Colin Wilson cast steel sliders.

Keeping the rear more or less standard but with a floating brake cam (ex Ewan Cameron)

Whole design was checked by my pal Steve Hughes who knows a bit about braking systems!
