I noticed this cool Cobra-style fuel tank cap in a YouTube video by Morgan Plus Four in the USA. Has anyone ever fitted this to a Plus Four ? :

I had it dealer fitted indeed. it's a Newton part and in my case the same as MMC delivered for the Pinnacles. They are not cheap, it's more than the cap alone, it's a whole "structure" underneath as you can see, and labour intensive to install. The US spec PlusFours have another fuel system with plastic fuel tanks instead of the metal ones on the UK and Continental PlusFours. The US filler caps differ from the "Pinnacle" cap, as they are larger. I don't know if the fit UK cars. I must say that I never did regret my conversion, I think it's a beautiful, not too large, LeMans style cap and works like a treat.😍

I don't like them either. My MY late 2022 PlusFour had the partially plastic inner work, which caused problems while opening it, especially if it stood in the sun for a longer time, so the plastic expanded more than the metal. And the plastic became rough due to repeatedly manipulating the cap. I once needed the AA to open it and because I was on holiday when that happened a made a detour to MorganPark Hamburg, who knew the problem and we so kind to solve it for a great deal by sanding the edges from the plastic. The later variants have a complete metal innerwork, but, as I have tried, don't operate nicely either. So I ddid choose for a complete replacement by the Pinnacle Cap, if it's for the looks, you can choose for the solution by Clemens, where the LeMans cap is mounted over the existing one.

I bought it at Newton. However, the lower ring is only available from a Morgan dealer. The number for the ring is REV. A. FLANGE 1143-6M M05 OD 126.0 X 27.OH CF350

Marc, just get rid of the existing locking mechanism and try to negotiate something at Louwman for a Pinnacle cap. Simon has lots of experience on installing, so maybe there is also "room" in the fitting price! It's certainly very practical, not only beautiful!

So nestor how does that work on a CX. Does it just screw on & the existing top part of the cap unscrew?

After trying the modified ring again, it turns out that a 3.5mm chamfer isn't enough
