Talk Morgan Forums Thread Like Summary - Thank you Santa! Plus, your favourite toy?

Ok, so Santa may have come (very) early this year, but without question the best "toy" I've ever gotten was my Morgan. I was a bit fortunate in that the search for the right car took me a while as there simply aren't that many on the market at a given time here in Sweden, which means that pleasant sense of expectation lasted a long time. This got me thinking about some of the other toys that I have been fortunate to have received and the excitement level that accompanied them. Here are some of my favourites:

-O-Guage train set with all the extras (switches, station house, trees, tiny figures, etc.), age 7: Off the scale, so call it a 10, but really this was a knob that went to 11...
-Four-stroke minibike, age 13: A solid 10. Couldn't sleep for a week
-Radio-controlled Porsche Dakar kit, age 24 (from my girlfriend-now-wife): 8, biggest surprise of my life -- how on earth had she figured out I would enjoy such a thing?

The Morgan was I would say a 7. I'm sadly a bit too old to experience quite that vibrating-guitar-string pitch of excitement that I was capable of in my youth. But as noted the thrill is much more extended both before and after purchase: it's tucked away for the winter now in the south of Sweden and the pleasant anticipation of its emergence in the spring is always with me.

At just 17 years old, following a breakdown of relationship with his stepfather, Jay found himself living on the streets in York, freezing cold. Scared of being mugged in the middle of the night and feeling totally alone in the world, Jay had hit rock bottom.

Sadly, there are many others like Jay who, through no fault of their own, end up in this dark place.

However, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to accommodate over 2,950 people across our 77 supported accommodations every night.

At these Lifehouses, we not only provide a roof over their head but we also provide employment support, debt advice, skills training and offer advice to help them find a permanent place to call their own. Giving them the space to plan for a more stable future.
