My only concern is the passenger airbag door, it seems to have hinges along the lower edge. On the +8 the passenger airbag cover is designed to drop away below the dash, held by 3 seatbelt webbing straps. Has anyone tested the hinge mechanism works and doesn't foul the opening bag? My understanding is that the veneered cover is made as lightweight as possible and will flip down out of the way. It is held in place with some spots of silicon that will not inhibit the deployment in case of need. Actually testing it would be an expensive proposition I suspect.

Interesting: the air bag cover is not the MMC original part?
If it is held with spots of silicone (good idea) then why the hinges? Much better to have the thin cover just blow away.
Yes, testing properly is expensive, even if successful it destroys the car..... MMC used up 11 cars crash testing the Aero chassis and airbags. It is rumoured that at the time they (CM) thought that they would be making 500 or so Aeros a year, with half going to the USA. So perhaps it made sense...in a CM Man Maths way.

Keep it hinged - you do not want a hard cover flying and hitting you - trust me on that one.

It's a huge shame that MMC don't offer de-luxe bespoke dashes as an option. There's a market out there.

They probably don't due to homoligation issues.

Interesting: the air bag cover is not the MMC original part? I'm pretty sure that the original cover is still underneath. You need to be pretty sure of what you are doing when you start to touch any of that stuff. They probably don't due to homoligation issues. They seem to be able to fit things like MotoLita steering wheels that are not homologated on the car. Technically speaking these are aftermarket items fitted by Aero Racing. At least that was the case on our car.

They probably don't due to homoligation issues. I see no reason why they cannot fit an Aero 8 style dash to the Plus 8. The Aero 8 dash is homologated. All that is needed is some small changes to make it fit. The top wood edge could be replaced with a block of hard neoprene foam covered in leather. I, and others, want instruments in front of the driver and the airbag door finished in something other than black plastic. The Aero 8 achieves this. Finished in wood veneer with the switch panel in turned aluminium it would look simply stunning.
