New Sifab radiator and K&N airfilter on 2016 4/4
Picked up the car yesterday after the original plastic radiator had been replaced.

Hi Winglad, Did your old radiator break & how old was it? I'm based in "Ost Hessen", as you know our nearest Morgan "handler" is in Kirchheim/Neckar, I just wondered where you got the work carried out??? Schmitt-BCS????? this was Winglads original post regarding his failed radiator I just ran into the same problem, with my 2016 4/4. Came into the garage couple of weeks ago and there was a puddle of coolant on the ground and the reservoir was almost empty. Called my dealer (about 150 miles from my home) to get some advice. They would not want to commit to anything until seeing the car. So I went to a specialist who works on Morgans since the 70ies. He identified the problem and told me that it all started, when MCC started installing the plastic-framed radiators. He told me, there are some well made aluminum radiators on the market and gave me an estimate for the installation of one of those, but advised me to ask my dealer to make me an offer that would prorate the original radiator since it still was under warranty. Called the dealer. They made an offer. But they would not deduct the plastic-piece (we don‘t do such wheeling and dealing (German word is Gemauschel)). So I had the choice to drive the 150 miles (which really is my problem) with a leaking radiator, then wait - how long!? - for Morgan to decide the warranty claim. And then get the cheap piece of ‚let‘s cut the costs‘ back into the car, or pay a proud sum to continue my Moggie‘s life with an aluminium radiator. Well, the car sits at the specialist nearby right now and gets his upgrade. And I pay good money for a car under warranty. Know what? I am SLIGHTLY disappointed. I bought a new, bespoke car for around 60.000,-€ to avoid spending thousands in the first couple of years. Ha, ha.

Hi! Osthessen? Then the workshop, I went to should be closest to you. I posted the story in the thread http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/527681/Re:_Radiator_under_heating!#Post527681 since others remarked about similar problems there. Anyway: My car was build in 2016, I have about 6000 Km on it now. First time, I discovered the problem was around march 2018. The coolant was in a puddle under the car in the garage. After this initial shock, the water only leaked out in small amounts so that I thought, I could wait until the inspection was due in September. But last month I lost 90% of the fluid again while driving and had to do an emergency stop to prevent the engine from overheating (luckily, I had been watching the temp-gauge). If your car is not under warranty anymore, or if you are not keen on getting another of those sh.tty plastic-radiators, check out this workshop in Mömbris: https://www.schmitt-bcs.deThey have done all the work, you see above in the pictures. Just give them a call and pay them a visit to find out if they offer the right solution for you. I choose them as my homebase since I was also fed up with going to Stuttgart, or Düsseldorf each time I needed servicing. My warranty ends now anyway (and little did it help...)

Hello Steve,
as you can see in the follow up posts, I did not do the work myself, and I am pretty sure, I wouldn‘t call it easy. But that also depends on your skill-level.
And in my case, it was not only the radiator, being changed. The workshop spent 22,5 hrs on my car.
Others on here could probably tell you, if it were easier, had you just changed the rad using the same mountings (if that is possibly swapping to Mulfab or Sifab).
I would not know... Sorry.

Just to get the balance right....Williams also produce an excellent alloy radiator. Agreed; sadly though, when I bought my Al radiator Williams had not then developed one to fit my particular 4/4. Peter Mulberry came to the rescue. Brilliant bit of kit.

I’m having the silfab radiator, and the Williams air induction kit fitted at the end of this month. Has anyone on here experinaced any extra power with the induction kit ? It’s been available for the plus 4 duratec, but they have only just produced one for the 1.6 sigma engine.
I have already had the Ecu remapped and the librands exhaust (not the manifold) so hoping the induction kit might had a few more horses....

The manifold made a big difference when I had my 2014 4/4..I had the remap, sports exhaust, manifold +K+N ,Magnecor HT leads and NGK plugs and got to 138.6 bhp from 110 bhp.
Also panhard rod,spax adjustable
Great fun in a light nimble car..then I became corrupted with the +4 Supersports.

That's not corruption, just adding a little extra performance!

Steve19, look at this thread: http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/516723/1Simon is giving good advice. Later on in the thread I am giving a little summary, when I had got the rad in and out. Not very difficult, a bit fiddly. Best to have a helping hand, lowering the rad from above while I was receiving it lying (uncomfortably) on the ground. I never did such work before, but found it quite straightforward.
