Is there an engineering reason the MAF is kept directly behind the Air Filter? ( Air pressure/volume?) Thinking of something similar DIY, but could do without the hassle of extending wiring; but if its essential.... Presumably there's an air scoop ahead of the Rad, or is it just the 'shaped' wire in the flex hose keeping the inlet open? ( got that, just seen the workshop link!)
